I see that fuse #40 listed on the interactive fuse webpage for 2022 and 2023 Mavericks as aftermarket brake controller:

I have that fuse in my 23 2.5L Maverick.
In service manual it's listed as Trailer Tow Electric Brake, but manual shows a 25A fuse.

Here's what I see:

On my TRM I have F42 YL/RD, F91 BU/RD, don't have F107 BU/RD:

Sidenote: i've got some water dripping out of the cowl drain and down onto shock tower cover and into bottom of my BJB. So I'll see if I can mitigate that. Truck was washed at home today.

I've seen the F150 posts where newer F150s require a kit that replaces the existing TRM if they didn't have the package needed for a TBC+TRM.
In pic labeled "my BJB fuses today:" the green 30A fuse in the forth row down is the one in 2022 manual labeled "aftermarket brake controller". Interesting! Thanks for all!
I was considering getting 7 pin service and the 30a to rear of truck for separate charging. Basically to get trailer brakes as a bonus if needed. Probably best to just go with 30-40A separate fused circuit.

Ford must be dividing usage for things to allow prioritization of loads as well as to aid necessary limp modes or something.

I don't know if many remember, but a while back someone posted a (illegal) link to the 2022 Maverick wiring diagrams. I saved a pdf copy of it, fuse # F40 isn't even shown as being part of a circuit. Based on that, I doubt there's a pigtail under the dash, no idea what the Owners Manual is trying to describe.

ETA: Take care when you are pulling fuses!!!
ETA: The chart says that F42 in position 40 is 25A so would the F# be when the 30A fuse is in position 40????

In the picture the 40 you have circled is the position of the fuse in the table he posted is labeled F#42. Just as F#91 is in position 44.
Look at chart he posted.

Not at all. It is Position 40 in the fuse box. In the wiring diagrams it is Fuse F42

I think I will go with this as can move it from 7 pin to 7 pin and mix and match vehicles and trailers and phone has settings for each combo in memory

I have a 2023 Maverick Hybrid and got a 7 pin connector installed, however the guys who put it on have on a bracket and it hangs down below the rear bumper - aesthetically it bugs the hell out of me and I’m trying to find a way to get it mounted next to the stock 4 pin connector.
While the 7+4 connector looks good, I'd just drill a hole for a 7-pin, and carry a 7 to 4 adapter for when you need one. It will fit in the OEM 4-flat bracket.

Title suggests, I just installed a factory like 7/4 pin adapter. I didn't want to have the look of the aftermarket 7 pin as they just didn't look good to me. I'd say it turned out well!

The install of the plug itself was nothing difficult. Since it's an Amazon part, I hooked up a spare flat 4 connector from the trailer side we had and tried all the wires to get the color coding (at least the one we ordered, it actually lined up with the factory color for the wiring). I then used some heat shrink soldier butt connectors and it was done.

I've yet to pull the 12v or reverse lights, and a brake controller is coming later (I stay under 2k lbs with the hybrid but I'm in the mountains so I want the brakes) but for 12v, I was planning to use the beds addon dc plugs and then the reverse lights are just a matter of finding the right color and splicing into it.

The cutting and welding on the truck was a tiny bit sketchy for me but it turned out just fine for what it needed. I'm happy to answer any questions about it and if anyone knows the reverse light wire color, I'd appreciate it.

I plan on trailer brakes maybe this summer. Carried over (tapped) the 4 pin wires to the 7 pin for now, as I sometimes tow a buddy's trailer that is 7 pin pigtail. I drilled into a beefy part of the bumper so it is very sturdy. Not factory looking, but as the song goes, "I did it MY way".
