Funny, I saw your video right after my post. That's a great workaround and it looks really clean. Might have to be weekend project. It's odd, or maybe not, when they installed the 7 pin, off the main wiring there's another wiring that plugs into my 4 pin. I'm thinking I'll just leave that...
How the heck did you get this to look so clean? I have a 2023 Maverick Hybrid and got a 7 pin connector installed, however the guys who put it on have on a bracket and it hangs down below the rear bumper - aesthetically it bugs the hell out of me and I’m trying to find a way to get it mounted...
So far very well. We’ve taken it on maybe 5 different camping trips and the Maverick has handled itself very well. Some minor ascents and descents on hills and I’ll put it in Tow mode which handles very well, otherwise I’ll keep it in normal mode on flats and just try to keep an eye on the...
Another question for you: I’m trying to figure out what ball hitch I’ll need. If my measurements were correct today, the trailer coupler bottom and top of the inside hitch on the Mav were both about 19.25”. Accounting for the slight drop once the trailer is hooked on, I’m guessing I’ll need a...
I guess I did mean the GCVW. I’m about to acquire a 1900lb pop up and have a hybrid with the factory hitch already on. Getting a brake controller and 4 to 7 pin plug installed. I’ll have a full cab of humans, myself and spouse plus three small kids. The whole GCVW thing is confusing to me and I...
Really appreciate all the information you’ve shared. How’s the Maverick holding up? Just purchased a pop up tent trailer that weighs about 2,000lbs and I’m getting a brake controller and 4 to 7 pin converter installed. Truck will be loaded with myself, wife and three younger children. Hoping she...
What’s your total weight for everything? Are you over or under? Getting a pop up camper weight in just under 2000lbs dry. Two adults and three children plus gear. Wondering if I’ll exceed the weight.
Just purchased a 2020 Rockwood Freedom 1950. Picking it up this weekend with my 2023 Maverick Hybrid and really excited. Getting a 4 to 7 pin converter and electric brake controller installed. Should be a great set up.
Just purchased a Rockwood Freedom 1950 pop up camper. Has a toilet and shower, just shy of 2000lbs. Plan to tow it with my 2023 Maverick hybrid XLT. Getting a 4 to 7 pin converter and electric brake controller installed.
Does the XLT hybrid make a difference in towing capability versus the Lariat? My speedometer panel is a little more basic and I’m wondering if I still get all the towing basics compared to the more advanced speedometer panels like in the Lariat.
Each of the items I’m looking at say 12v, they also both have their own dedicated power switch/button so as long as I’m not putting both on at the same time, I think it would be fine?
Hey everyone,
Non-electrician here. Can the 12v wire in the bed be split into two separate connectors? One to power an LED light and one to power a charging/usb outlet station?
I would say that is definitely not normal, at least based on the pictures I’ve seen of other Maverick owners with the same tonneau cover. I just purchased one yesterday and if I saw pics of it like this, it would definitely not have been a tonneau I would consider for purchase. Let us know what...
Totally agree with you. And I wouldn’t be storing anything of great value in the bed either. Could be my kid’s backpack while I stop somewhere, or groceries, maybe luggage, but knowing I have something like that in my bed, I understand it wouldn’t be ideal to stop somewhere and leave the truck...
