Compared to the ecoboost, the Nissan Frontier is the only other truck I would be looking at, but that vehicle has just as many question marks.

As for whether it's worth it, I still agree with what car care nut said about it on youtube. The cheaper trims absolutely are incredible value, but the value starts dropping rapidly the more you add on to this vehicle. Upgrades needed for the 4K tow package if you're going to tow would also lead me in the direction of a Frontier.

My late uncles and father would come back from the grave and beat my backside if I bought a Japanese truck. When I test drove the Ridgeline my uncle popped into my head telling me how he didn't drown by using the dead bodies from his ship as flotation devices. I will never dishonor them!
Plus the Ridgeline can’t be flat towed

Could argue the Frontier is more "American" than the Maverick being assembled here, but who knows where all the components actually come from.

One of my WWII vet grandfathers moved his family to West Germany about 5 years after the war because it was so much cheaper to live there and he spoke German, but he did ship a car over, and always drove American cars too.

Neither can my EB. But that was not a concern for me since I don;t need to tow the vehicle I drive. If I had a motorhome then I would have looked at something other than the Maverick.
I have a MotorHome and have flat towed many different vehicles if you look at the few new 2025 vehicles that can be flat towed the Maverick checks all the boxes I definitely don’t want to drag a F-150 or a full size GM or Chevy truck behind my RV for lots of reasons - I’ve been waiting for this vehicle for quite a while

I almost bought a Maverick about a month or so ago to replace my 2004 Ranger (handing it down to my kid, what a champ the Ranger's been) when, on the way to the dealer, I received a call that a Stop Sale had been implemented and my wife and I had to turn around and go home empty-handed (I had already driven one previously but hated the stock interior). After sitting on it for a week, I decided to just go ahead and order one from a dealer closer to me with everything I wanted and nothing I didn't (Eruption Green XLT, Ecoboost, Black Appearance Package, Luxury Package, Spray-In Liner). Got the employee pricing, so we're sitting at $34,500 (this includes delivery/destination) plus registration, doc fee, etc. Since then, all I've had time to do is more research. Here, Reddit, YouTube, etc. The Maverick looks like everything I want, but the constant recalls and issues- leaks, battery drain, CLIPS even, etc. - have me a bit spooked as the build date (week of 6/30) grows ever closer. I have a whole checklist of things to look over and test when the truck is delivered, but that will only tell me so much and can't cover everything. You all have so much knowledge and experience. Are you happy with the purchase? Would you get one again? Would you recommend it to your friends and family? Are the stock speakers THAT bad? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
just follow thru and buy it i've had my 22 xl for 3 years and 28k makes and no probls..buy it and move on

Pearl Harbor and WWII were 80 years ago...I've learned to live and forgive/forget and not hold grudges. Current people had nothing to do with the actions of their ancestor's/Kings/Dictators. I've had more Hondas and Porsches than I can remember. Both manufacturers always made quality vehicles.

The 25 Ecoboost gets the port injection to address the intake issues with GDI engines. But I would snag one up before the next builds start rolling out with the GPF filters. We are getting mixed messages about which markets are affected by the GPF. Some reports say only the CARB states will be forced to have the GPF filters. Hopefully that is the case.

I have a Lobo scheduled for Job 3 production week of 7/21/25 & keeping fingers crossed on NO GPF. I’m in AZ (non CARB). I’m hearing GPF are currently only going to CARB dealers….thinking of driving 2hrs south to Hermasillo Plant to check my build sheet:)!

Didn’t read all posts, what year? The front end of the ‘25 is hideous and causes blindness after a short period of time.
I heard it was another activity that caused blindness... Lies, all lies! LOL

For peace of mind get an extended warranty online from Granger or Lombardi Ford.. thousands cheaper than dealer prices and lets you pick how many years and miles. Note that if you buy let’s say a 7 year warranty it starts on the day you buy the car so although the original car warranty covers 3 years 36,000 miles essentially you are getting another 4 years and up to however many miles you chose to purchase.

The BAP does a nice job with the white, some fantastic contrast.

For such a silly thing (except fixing that interior, which was NOT for me), the BAP does do a lot of nice little things to class up the look. I looked at the cost and cringed, but it works.
I probably would not have chosen it if I was ordering the truck because I think it's a bit much for what you get. But it was already on the lot. And I needed something immediately because my car had been totaled. And id already made a couple of car payments in rental car fees. Having said that. It was almost a necessity with a white truck. Otherwise, my XLT would have looked like a municipal vehicle with nice rims. 😅. I really didn't want a white vehicle. But the Black appearance package made it look more than acceptable, . But if I'd ordered one. I might have gotten a Lariat in eruption green, and eliminated the Black appearance package and sunroof. That would have brought the price close to what I paid for this one.
