Is The Maverick A Good Buy? Getting Cold Feet

Last year we bought 40 bags of Lowes brown mulch and the color consistemcy was terrible. The color in some of the bags were so drastically different that we had to separate them because it would have looked terrible if they were in a shrub bed together.

I found pieces of glass bottles, half of a golf ball, pieces of 2 x 4, rocks, and half a brick in the Lowe's mulch. I bought the black and the first rain it was all gray or natural color. I attempted to get them to honor the 12 month color guarantee. They said I would have to "prove" that was from the bags I bought.

I fill up my Mav with old manure from a local horse boarding place always the same and just gets better with age. Price is right too (free).

I didn't snap a picture but I hauled the 20 bags of 1.5 cu/ft and closed my hard cover over it, . I don't like to drive with it flipped up and didn't feel like removing it although it is easy to do. Plus The Home Depot is less than a mile as the crow flies from my house so 2 trips is no big deal. That just means I get to drive my Maverick more.
EDIT: I bought the Scott's mulch also and it is 100% better than the crap I got from Lowe's last year. I raked it out of the beds and repurposed it around some junipers that hide it anyway.

The last 3-4 Years I bought the Scott's mulch and have never had a problem with it.

I like Menards for the reason they never give me any grief when I have to return someting. There is something said about a family run business as opposed to a Wall St directive.

These screen shots of 85 or 66 MPG are not averages. They are what is occurring at that moment in time. You may be coming down an incline and the reading will show that for a short period of time. Just about everyone I've talked you when we actually calculate our MPG after filling up at the gas pump are experiencing MPG rates of "around" 43-45 MPG if we are driving mostly in the city at under 50 MPH, in the mid-to-high 30s if a good mix of highway & city driving, and 33-35 MPG out on the highway.

11,000 miles in on my 25 Lariat Eco. In the last 30+ years I have owned or used the following trucks: Nissan Hardbody, Isuzu 4x4, Mazda TLD edition, Nissan Frontier and most recently Toyota Tundra. I absolutely love my Maverick. I have had zero regrets buying it. My only wish was knobs for HVAC versus screen but I am getting used to it LOL.

If it were me.......... I would stay FAR FAR away from a Maverick at this point. I have put over 8K miles on a Dealer loaner while owning this Maverick. Tranny issues, Front CV Axels, rear drive shaft issues. NEVER again. NEVER!

Financially, I probably would have been better off buying an used model for $10,000 less, especially since I don't drive all that many miles. The 7000 I've put on in 15 months is actually more than I expected for a second vehicle. But I do like that I was able to get the color I wanted and it fits in my garage better than the used models I looked at from other brands.

I have had many 3 to 20 mile city trip at around 35-40 mph that average 60 to 85 MPG in my 2025 Maverick Hybrid Lariat AWD 4K. Overall day one till current 18,000 miles is 41 MPG 90 City 10 highway @ 60 MPH.

Loving My 25 AWD XLT with the 2.0 EB coming up on 9,500 miles I've had many Rangers and F-150's and I think the Maverick has been one of My favorites!! The only things I don't like are the Lame Fuel Gauge, Lame Tachometer and a clicking noise in passenger side windshield area in cold weather under 40 degrees which sounds like the windshield alignment pins that some guys on here mentioned!!

Own a 2025 green ecoboost Lariat. Great vehicle. No issues. 3 recalls - one fixed with a software update automatically, one with software update at dealer took 15 minutes with no appointment needed, one took 15 minutes with an appointment (replaced a warning bulb clip). If I wrecked it would order a new one - but probably the AWD hybrid now that it has a year or two in production.
