I finally got the Roadmaster kit on my 2025 Lariat Hybrid and took is for a short run with the RV. Everything worked great and the Mav towed perfect. Now I'm planning my first long trip with a toad.

I got mine installed today I will take a short test run in the next few days and head out for a longer trip in a few weeks

To anyone who has flat towed the 2025 Maverick AWD Hybrid I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on the 15 minute wait time after arriving at your final destination?

Has anyone printed out their step by step procedures they could share from initialing neutral tow through disconnecting the vehicle

Nice install! However, it does appear you removed the lower shutters like it shows in the Roadmaster instructions.

Thank you Kyle yes - I don’t see removing the lower shutter being an issue after talking with the installer who has a lot of experience with this modification and understanding it’s purpose

Connected the 2025 Maverick to the MotorHome today - everything went well no issues, I love this RoadMaster Set up - I now am working on modifying my BlueOx KarGuard (Rock Guard) brackets to fit on the RoadMaster TowBar looks like it will work more pics and details to follow…

Over 3500 miles towing now. I have let it sit for 15 minutes most of the time. At some camp sites were I had to back in I had to move the maverick out of the road after disconnecting.

The weird thing is that after towing for 6 hours you are supposed to stop, shift into D then back to N to continue towing. Nothing about waiting 15 minutes.
I just joined after lurking for a month or so to try and get more information on the 15 minute requirement that's new for 2025. I do see it in the 2025 Maverick owners manual online:

Switching Neutral Tow Off
  1. Switch your vehicle on in accessory mode.
  2. Fully press the brake pedal.
  3. Shift into park (P).
  4. Fully release the brake pedal.
  5. Switch the ignition off.
  6. Before starting the engine, wait 15 minutes with all doors closed and without interacting with the vehicle.

MasterChief - can you clarify if you've had to push the truck to get it out of the road within those 15 minutes? If so, I assume you're leaving it in neutral tow mode after disconnecting to do so?

Has anyone asked/gotten a response from Ford about this? We're shopping for our next flat-tow vehicle and really like the Maverick as an option, but that requirement would take the 2025 off our list.

I find it interesting that a 15 minute wait would remove this amazing vehicle from your list of flat towing vehicles - if you pull into a campground and take it out of “neutral tow” first then disconnect the vehicle from your RV. go inside and check in then get ready to go to your campsite the 15 minute wait time in most case would have expired, before pulling away from the check in office I usually do a complete walk around my bus to ensure nothing has gone wrong during the last leg of my journey it unlikely I could accomplish all these task in less than 15 minute from the time I pull into the campground but if I do I’m not going to worry about meeting the exact 15 minutes do I think 12, 13, or 14 minutes would be a problem I don’t think so and I back that up with it hasn’t up to this point - I never have felt rushed to disconnect and get to my site, camping, and traveling in our RV is abut relaxing, rushing will only cause problems I’ve seen so many campers rush and forget critical things so I always follow my routine

I doubt if anyone that writes these procedures have ever flat towed a vehicle…

We have been in enough situations where we've needed or wanted to disconnect and move the toad quickly. 15 minutes doesn't sound like a lot until you're blocking others or need to disconnect to navigate a tight fuel stop or parking lot.

The 2025 Escape hybrid doesn't have this 15 minute requirement, and I'm trying to understand why the 2025 Maverick does.

In an emergency situation I would ignore the 15 minute time (not saying you should), honestly I have connected my 2025 Maverick Lariat AWD Hybrid to my MotorCoach numerous times when working on things and disconnected many times without the wait - hopefully you can get an “official“ answer but I have seen this subject come up several times without the person getting the results they were hoping for as an RVer you know it rare to get consistent answers to these types of questions…

Good Luck now I’m interested to know as well

I think you missed the note on page 330.
Note: Make sure to safely secure your vehicle to the towing vehicle before proceeding.

It will take you 15 minutes to disconnect the tow bar & put it away. I also would do a walk around both vehicles to make sure everything is secure.

Robert,

I'm not sure where that "switching neutral tow off" procedure came from, but the part about securing to the tow vehicle would be for when you hook up the toad to the motorhome. It's the disconnecting part that has the 15 minute wait period that I quoted and am asking about. In that situation, the truck wouldn't be connected to anything.

From the "all doors closed and don't interact with the vehicle", it sounds like you can't even start it to back it away from the coach if needed.

We're actually pretty quick at detaching from the coach and moving the current toad. It's just pulling the umbilical, the breakaway, the safety cables, and 2 pins for the tow bar ends and we're done. All that stays with the towbar that's mounted on the coach.

No such requirement for the 2022-2024 Mavericks. I'd be on the hunt for another 2023 if mine was gone.

I checked the 2025 FORD MAVERICK Owner's Manual HTLM version does not have that note:
