Just flipped over the 1K miles this morning. Getting around 40 mpg and love the way it drives. Yes the interior plastic is getting marked very easy, but in looking at other vehicles I think it would happen anyways. I have the Lariat Hybrid with all the bells and whistles.

Have a 23' XLT EB LuxPack FWD. Ordered it back in 2022 the day the order banks opened and took delivery late May 2023.

20k miles currently.

Only complaints...
>Super thin sheet metal. Already had to have a glue pull done on one of the doors from just leaning against it. Most likely the same way with any steel body modern vehicle these days? Probably not just a Maverick thing?

>Very easy to scratch interior panels. We use it as a family car so it gets used but we still try to cover and protect surfaces to eliminate damage. Despite that, it looks like you turned a wild cat loose in the interior the scratches are so bad. You cannot even lightly graze the dash, glove box, door panels, or other trim without leaving some kind of permanent mark.

>Paint chips off of front bumper too easy. Nearly every bug removes paint instead of making an indention. I have to touch up several paint chips on bumper every time I wash it.

>Shifter dial is easy to knock out of drive while driving. Many times when I get my cup out of the cup holder I bump the shift dial and knock the transmission into neutral.

> Brakes are not the greatest. I drive three other vehicles aside from the Maverick and every time I jump in the Maverick I find myself using a lot more effort to stop.

I Have had no engine or transmission issues.
Change engine oil every 3k miles (Mobil One 5W30 Full Syn + Motorcraft FL910S Filter)
Change air filter every 6k miles (Motorcraft FA1939).
Change cabin filter (Motorcraft FP89) every year or 10k miles.
Changed transmission fluid at 12k miles. (Motorcraft Mercon ULV).
NEVER use Auto-Start-Stop.
Have always used Normal Mode (Never even tried Eco or Sport).

Despite all this, some of the cheapness is acceptable considering the price. I can live with everyting mentioned above and honestly the vehicle is better than I expected it to be, so far. It's a good daily driver, suites our needs perfectly, very versatile, rides fantastic, LOTS of power, fits in tight spaces and our garage, and gets great fuel economy (averaging 28-29mpg combined on normal mode with auto start-stop deactivated). I chose the Maverick mainly because it was very basic and simple. Has what it needs and what you would want and nothing else. Less to fail, better chance of reliability (in theory). Main concern for me is if the engine, transmission, modules/electronics, and body last. For the money, and if taken care of, I expect this thing to go 100k-120k miles without any major or costly repairs. Just know, this was built and priced to be a 10yr / 100k mile vehicle. Don't expect it to go beyond that.

Yes and I did by a second one. My first was a 2023 Lariat black out edition and I loved it. I now have a 2025 same model and options and I like the new look and it drives as well as my first one. I am disappointed with the all digital dashboard but othe than that I like the larger wheels and tires and the over all look.

I got my first Maverick in October of 2023. It was a dealer demo XL. I had a 2023 XLT on order, but had no idea if I’d ever get it.

My 2023 HPR XLT finally arrived and I was excited. Almost two years and 6,000 miles later, I am disappointed in my little truck. Deep sleep, backup cam, interior scratches that make it look older than my 2018 model S and the list goes on.

If it wasn’t covered by a $0 deductible warranty until 2033, I’d probably be getting rid of it. I might get rid of it anyway. I can’t imagine ever recommending buying one to a friend.

Bottom line. I would not buy another Maverick.
sorry to hear you have buyers remorse.... 2022 Lariat Lux/4K tow. would buy it again in a heart beat most versatile vehicle I have ever owned out of the 20 I have had in my time on this big round ball.

Not buyer’s remorse. My little truck has way too many things wrong with it for being as nee as it is. I don’t think it will last ten years without spending much time in the shop.

Ya fair enough. I have seen a lot of problems in the forums (cross my fingers) other than a sway bar end link (warrantee) mine has been very reliable.
I also promised my wife it would be my last vehicle. And so far she is keeping g me to it… Lol

Only 18 months in and 6000 miles, but I love the truck. Would definitely buy again.

I ordered my 2022 XLT almost as soon as the first portal opened. It had the Eco 2L, same as my Edge, and I opted for FWD only, but I did get the luxury package, and a few other goodies.

I traded a 3 year old Chevy Colorado, and was very happy with the deal.

After 3 years and 20k, I would buy another, although the new higher price would be a deterrent.

Is it a great, well made vehicle? Well, no. It has had 4 or 5 recalls; (I've lost count).

My Colorado was built better. However, since I only need the truck occasionally, I wanted more car than truck, seating for 4, better gas mileage, easier entry/exit and better handling. Despite the less than stellar build quality, The Maverick checks every box of what I needed and wanted in a vehicle.

Ford has already hit a home run, evidenced by the fact that Maverick outsells it closest competition, as well as its Ranger big brother.

If Ford can improve build quality without driving prices into the stratosphere, they'll have a grand slam.

90K KMs and 3 years of ownership on my 22. Endless recalls, deep sleep, check engine light is on (Emissions issue), AWD System failure (Speed sensor, parts ordered). I love a lot of things about this truck especially the gas mileage, but it all comes down to bang for the buck. If i could get this truck again for anywhere close to the 32K I paid, I would. But with all the price increases and all the issues, I doubt it. Which is unfortunate, this truck hits all the right buttons for me, but the build quality is just atrocious.
I should add, if I was asked this question about 6 months ago I'd have said Yes I would buy again. I actually was looking at trade-in values and pricing 2025s for a short time. For the sake of everyone still happy with their Mavericks that would happily buy again, I hope it stays that way for you. It's a great design and I still really like how this truck fits my lifestyle. And once I get my current issues fixed up i hope I get back to loving my Maverick. I have always planned to drive this truck into the ground, it's just unfortunate that I don't have faith in this truck lasting as long as I had originally hoped.

My Maverick has been out of service for nearly six months for a sensor wiring harness that is in stock and being installed in new trucks by the hundreds every day in Mexico, yet is on national backorder since 2/11/25. I feel betrayed by Ford motor company in the name of corporate greed versus supporting loyal repeat customers. Currently, the parking sensor wiring harness SZ6Z15K867BA is due to ship 6/23/25 which I expect my emergency backorder will be canceled a third time and the repair date will be pushed back even further. After only driving my Maverick for three days and less than 500 miles, I vote a resounding NO due to lack of support!

I'm looking at getting a 25 AWD Hybrid and I keep seeing posts how easy the paint chips and how easy the interior scratches. Hopefully I can come figure out a few preventative measures to help with both of those issues.
