I’m assuming you mean the 5 quart jug :)
ulp. Yes.

although wally-world also sells mobile 1, at least in some weights, in a 12 qt bladder (so 3 gallons).

I assumed I was buying a case of 12 bottles, but I got out to the car and found that it was a single bladder, like in the 3L wine boxes.

Yep, use that screen to maximize EV time.

The Teslas (we own a few) break down the power output in granular detail. Want to know how much more power it takes to run the AC at 68 or 72? It tells you.

On the AWD versions the truck is measuring and allocating the torque at all 4 wheels. I think some of the more off road versions of Ford's products and the Lightning have a display that shows the power distribution at each wheel. Not needed but it is fun to nerd out on.
Yes, I call it trying to catch the BLUE WAVE!. I have never done any surfing but trying to use this analogy. However, obviously, if you have EV Coach and the Power Flow Screen in front of you, that is too much opportunity for Distraction from a safety stand point

Google: short run times hybrid hard on engine

Almost every mechanic says that the short cycle on/off is hard on hybrid engines.

I am just wondering how Ford has cleared that hurdle.
Don't believe everything you read on the internet or watch on YouTube - especially so called experts (or nuts even).

Toyota destroyed that hurdle over 20 years ago. Ford didn't need to even step over it. Do hybrids have a short engine life? Pretty sure I would have heard of that by now. It's not an issue. Modern engines and oils handle all the hybrid on/off stuff just fine. Enjoy the gas savings.

Can't find it anywhere, where did you see it?
it's in the screen settings for the heads-up display. I'll have to check and see what the setting actually is, but it displays the power flow indicator on the left side of the screen.

There's no screen settings for a non-existent heads up display 😉

Don't know if anyone remembers the old Mercedes diesels, but the transmission was controlled by a switch on the accelerator and you could control the transmission kick down to a higher gear ratio by pushing through that switch. ... Wouldn't it be cool if Hybrid manufacturers put a spring or switch in the pedal that would allow you to go to MAX ELECTRIC DRIVE and then have a bit of resistance to push through and get the GAS MOTOR DRIVE going?

Funny you should mention that.
We (experimenters - about 150 of us) kind of did that with the generation one Honda Insight. There was no "mode" switch like today we have Sport/Slippery etc. so one hobbyist built a control board we could plug in, basically to smooth out pedal movements. With an on/off it gave us a more gentle mode

Got me a boost from 70 MPG to 80 MPG.
Lots of people pushed it to 100 MPG.

That was 25 years ago.
With hypermiling techniques one could drive from Canada to Mexico on one tankful and not buy a drop of gas in the U.S. and there was no plug. The car did it all on gas.

We've not advanced fuel efficiency much in 25 years technology wise; but more people are buying more fuel efficient cars or EV's now so I'm sure the per capita use has gone down some.

That's very cool!

Cars have become cleaner and safer, which adds weight.

The Tesla Model 3 isn't getting much love anymore, but $ for capability, it remains astonishing. Lifetime average for me in ours is something like 138-145 MPGe. Still rips 0-60 in 4.9 and drives better than new due to incredible improvements in tire technology (Pirelli P-Zero AS4+ Elec). With night charging where we live our entire family's car related energy cost is $3-$5 per month, entirely off renewables. The LUCID Air Pure just stole the crown for most efficient on Earth, but I'm not dropping $90k on a sedan at the moment.

Sorry for the tread creep.

...does Ford have some technology built in to keep premature wear from happening?[/QUOTE]Synthetic 0w-20 oil.

If you're concerned about oil contaminants, get an oil analysis done after an oil change. I had a Blackstone analysis done at a 12k mile oil change. Oil had little contamination and none to be of concern, according to Blackstone. They said the oil, including additives was still very good and I could've gone much longer before the change. The truck's OLM mirrored the Blackstone analysis regarding oil lifetime .

If your concerns were valid, the Toyota Prius would've already proven your theory. Toyota's been selling the Prius since 1997. It is proven technology. And Ford's been selling Hybrids since ~2004 or so. Hardly new tech. https://fordauthority.com/2019/08/this-2012-ford-escape-hybrid-has-over-400k-miles/

No. Not at all like the jeep.

In a Ford Hybrid you will need to change the oil LESS OFTEN than any other car you have probably owned.

10,000 miles is typical.
Sometimes 15,000 miles is totally acceptable and I have the Blackstone Lab reports to back that up.

Only when towing a lot or heavy hauling a lot, will you need to change oil between 5000 and 7500 miles.

But its a free country and you can do what you like. Most experts agree you should change it at 1 year; no matter how few miles you've gone.

I have had Ford hybrids in my household since they debuted in 2005.
Great vehicles. Engines are typically very reliable and the oil reminder on the dash has proven to be reliable also.

Hope that helps you.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
I have 3800 miles on my 2022 mav XLT lux and the oil life warning light comes on right at 12-12.1 months!!!

I understand what you're saying.
I don't believe Ford has cleared that hurdle.
You're probably better off owning an EcoBoost being a more conventional style engine.
Not sure that "Any" of those direct inject ecobee's will outlast the port injected 2.5l? Ask any mechanic worth his salt which is better for a gas engine port vs direct injection?

I did ask one, he said most don’t keep a vehicle into the multi hundreds of thousand miles where it would matter.
I trade in every five or six years at most. So no concern for me
I trade for two reasons,

1:
I’m always under warranty, I buy the extended.
2:
I like getting a new toy to play with.

Yep.. This right here...

I'm just beginning to wonder about the quality vs price anymore..

I hear ya,
Did I pay too much for my Lariat ? IDK or care. $36,000 for what I got was ok with me.

Quality, that’s a crap shoot. So far so good. I’m happy with everything and have learned to tolerate and ignore the stupid stop/start thing.

I see it Thustly,
The only thing I don’t like is the Stop/Start,
That is really freakin stupid. Can’t go in a screen and make it go away forever.

But that’s just it. It’s only one thing.
Everything else is fine with me.
If I total it I’ll get another one. I like it.
