That cable under the hood issue is a loose eyelet, essentially disconnecting the 12V battery from the truck. That eyelet/ring terminal is soldered to the main battery cable (not crimped!) with a poor solder joint (=Ford supplier bad QC). My '22 had it too, I kept it going for a long while with a simple hose clamp around it (!!) forcibly joining terminal and cable strands together which worked fine for like 9 months. Ultimately I made the effort getting it to the dealer and having the battery cable replaced. There's an official Ford campaign on this issue covering most (all?) '22 Maverick Hybrids (see below). There's a fair chance yours has the same issue as it is common on the '22s and the symptom is exactly what you describe: an out of the blue no-start situation, and jumping it takes care of it because the jump terminals are downstream of this cable eyelet.
Outside of that, installing that $140 AGM battery and bumping up the charge SOC to 100% should fix any low voltage issues going forward.
It certainly did for mine.
It is good to note that other Ford models also suffer from this issue as they are all trying to squeeze max. fuel economy out of these drivelines.
Cheers,

Any chance you can pinpoint the eyelet/ring terminal location for me? I'm calling the dealer this morning and would at least like to be able to sound like I might know what I'm talking about. Thanks again, greatly appreciate it!
