Maverick Rearview Camera Recall Fix is Out!

If these trucks go into battery saver mode in the middle of an update, it can bork it. So, most dealers connect a backup power source to the truck during update, so that won't happen. The ones that don't do this are the ones you should look out for.

Similar to setting up a new phone. Do it while connected to a charger.

That makes sense. They should just stick a new AGM in our trucks and take care of both problems at the same time!

Agreed, as long as they are 2023. That was the only year involved in the 12v battery recall.

The recall fix is out and here are some facts you need to know about it. Before the recall can be performed, your battery needs to be at 100% charge. The recall takes 1 hour to perform using the FDRS tool. With this in mind, give your dealer time to perform them and schedule them. We will be 2 weeks out to schedule one at our dealership because we have 86 Mavericks that will need to be done first. These can be done via mobile service, which we will be able to do for our customers within 30 miles of the dealership.

I will doing a video for our Maverick Monday video series going over this and our 2024 Maverick inventory that now is available to sell as of today.

Finished in under 2 hours, 25 mins of which was formatting the USB drive.

This was the tech's first time performing this recall, he said he didn't think he'd have to spend that time for future fixes now since his USB is set up.

The easiest way for a 100% charge is driving the vehicle for 30 minutes on a highway at highway speeds as far as the update goes I had it done yesterday and no crashes and a for some reason a brighter screen

The negative had to come off the terminal as well.

Must be that pesky BMS.

I just had my 24 XLT updated at the local Ford dealer. While it took much longer than anticipated - not sure why that would be given where IT technology is today - but it got done about 3 + hours after hand off to a tech.

Nothing bad to say about the fix. In fact, I have a wireless CarPlay adapter and since the update this morning CarPlay has been starting up much more promptly than in the past. Hopefully this is a permanent change in behavior.

Parden me for not knowing, but what years is the camera update required for? I have a 2023 EB, and have not receive a recall notice, but it seems to be a broad recall. Is it all '23 models? If no notice by now, should I assume my vehicle is not affected?

It's 22-24 XL and XLTs. 24 Lariat's are not effected, for 2022/2023 Lariats I believe the stock system is effected, but if you upgraded to sync3(part of the luxary package I believe?) it's not.
