How does everyone wash their Maverick?

I guess this could apply to any car or truck, really. I love the way my Maverick looks and I want to do a better job keeping it clean and shiny. Especially the wheels since I bought aftermarket rims that look fantastic when clean.

My main problem is I do a LOT of freeway driving at speeds 80+ mph and I’m constantly getting bug splatter all over the front end. This stuff does NOT come off in drive-through washes. I’m considering buying a pre-soak bug spray and applying it to front end before every wash. And a wheel cleaner pre-soak spray as well.

My question is do you have to scrub these bug sprays and wheel sprays with brush after they pre-soak, prior to going through the car wash? Or do they have enough power to dissolve everything and then it just comes off in the car wash?

The ride-thru wash I use typically sprays a solution on the front end & windshield before going thru, the brushes do the rest.

No carwash, always by hand. Bugs off ASAP. With my old cars I used touchless car washes, it was useless for taking off bugs even though it was a high pressure system.

Our local car wash does a good job and never hurt the paint on my 2021 Bronco Sport. It was black. I often used the,
‘Tunnel of Torture’, L O L
If the weather is nice I give Pepper a hand job,
If it’s winter cold I run her through the massage parlor. :’P

When we did the mustangs across America trip we sprayed the front end with Pam cooking spray. The bugs slid right off the front end while driving. Harley shops have a spray called Bugslide works good also, just costs way more.

I've never driven through a car wash. I hand wash only unless it's too cold, then it's coin-op. I've done the cooking spray thing many times in the summer. It works.

The last time I was in an automatic car wash was riding shotgun with my mom about 45 years ago.

I keep a spray bottle of turtle wax hybrid solutions ceramic and a microfiber cloth in my car at all times.

Always wash in the driveway. If the bugs are really bad, I hit it with the pressure washer first, then wooly mit usually gets the rest.

Bug and tar remover is pretty harsh stuff. WD-40 actually works pretty well without harming the paint. I usually opt for soap and a white mesh covered sponge on the tough stuff.
