okay... I'm just messing around.... no need to stir up that hornet's nest....
Arizona / Sonora water is so hard, the cleanser is a secondary concern... most importantly is I must wash my vehicles in the shade and dry them immediately.

I have a 2010 ram that I bought new.i wash it once a year with dish soap then wax it with McGuire's paste wax. It's never been painted and it still looks like new despite being a Michigan truck.i will continue this practice with my 23 maverick.will see if the Ford holds up as good.I was just wondering what car washing products you folks use to wash your trucks? What’s good and what to avoid?
Yeah, I was about to write the same. The answer when someone says "I need to strip everything but don't have any purpose made automotive stripper" is "Use Dawn Dish Soap".Use ANY of the name brand car soaps and you will be fine . They are made to not remove either wax or ceramic coatings,. NEVER NEVER use DAWN. Removes all wax or ceramics. Its great if you want to remove old wax then coat with ceramic afterwards.
If you use a cermaic then typically the maker also makes a car was which helps improve the life of the ceramic coating. Griots Garage was mention they have a coating and a wash that does that. I used the Griot wash on my mothers car which had nothing on it and it kept water beading for a few months .
BUT again NEVER DAWN. Oh my god that is bad. Better off to never wash the car ever.
That's literally what I have been using on my ram for the past 14 years.i do wax it once a year though.Use ANY of the name brand car soaps and you will be fine . Dawn??? Oh wax last about 2 months at best. Well every time you washed it assuming its dawn you removed ALL wax on it. Dawn is a know stripper of wax. Many car detail forums talk about its use to remove all old wax. Then they give it a proper coat of ceramic. I used to use an acrylic sealer called Klasse now ceramic. That's literally what I have been using on my ram for the past 14 years.i do wax it once a year though.
Did you apply ceramic yourself or go to a professional?I put a 10H Ceramic/Graphene coating on my Maverick the 1st week I got it (3 months ago). To wash it, all I do is blast it with the hose and blow the water off with a leaf blower. No need for soap or a towel (except windows). Dirt and rain spots just rinse off. Work great every time!
True,I have been using dawn or whatever dish soap my wife buys for as long as I can remember, maybe 40 years? I'm 63. My vehicles have all looked great.your right,to each his ownDawn??? But to each there own.
