I think the 360 camera too

There's some significant features added with the Lariat trim. Whether those features matter to you might be a different story of course.
I listed those mostly before, could never justify 5k+ of costs

It's kind of concerning you mentioned liquor getting on your seats.....
A serious drinking problem, indeed.

It's supposed to get in your mouth, not your seat!

[OK, now, really, how do you miss your mouth by enough to get your seat? ]

my friend just got 2200 off his maverick 2025 he ordered, he took my quote from granger to them and got them to match an order.
Hey, I think that makes three of us!

You know, after weeks of seeing it, I can finally make out a penguin in your avatar rather than a guy screaming!

Because we can afford them and want them.
More importantly, I can afford it and my wife wants it.

I just find it funny how much money Ford makes off people who don't care about cash
It's not that I don't care about cash. It's that I care more about comfort than a small amount of cash!

And I know it's not a common opinion, but I prefer velour to either leather or cloth. (I'd prefer an unfinished wooden bench to plastic!). I have it in my 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood (the others all have leather), and have had it before in a Crown Victoria and a Cougar.

It's not violent in heat or cold, not scratchy like worn cloth, and can be cleaned.

We need competition.
I really don’t comprehend why hyundai/kia don’t have a least its small pickup with an hybrid or even a plug-in or a full EV yet.
too small of a market?

I laughed, I looked at my phone and yeah it does look like a screaming man. But yep. Penguin!

What’s the annual inflation rate ?
$155 increase?
Thats a 0.0041% increase,
Inflation was what, 37% and people are upset with Ford ?
Really !

I don't get it either, it seems like a no brainier. On the other hand, it's already more expensive than the Maverick anyway, and maybe they think that might drive the price up to far. But it should be an easy drop in of the Tucson systems.

competition doesn't occur overnight though. a new vehicle takes some time to develop, years. then they need to get all the government approvals. pass testing. set up the production lines. and a lot more.

even if XXX wanted to start selling a competitor it might be a few years out at best and we know large companies never move quickly.

The Santa Cruz is literally a modification of the Tucson. The powertrains almost HAVE to be compatible. I don't think Hyundai expected the hybrid Maverick to be popular any more than Ford did, but they've had a lot of time to pivot.

Half of me thinks Toyota is the best positioned to release something in this segment. The other half thinks Toyota doesn't want to cannibalize Tacoma sales, especially when they just launched a major redesign. Not that it actually WOULD cannibalize those sales, but they don't know that.

they did a conceptual stout, and my dear lord its ugly. thats why I bought maverick, I was all on board, til I saw their concept, said nah. aint my cup o tea. the concept is electric, but it would be a hybrid for sure.

Not trying to be a negative Nelson but does anyone think that Ford is dangerously close to pricing the Maverick out of the market? I mean, at this point, for a few thousand more one could get a 4x4 Ranger. Personally I like my Maverick and wouldn’t change my choice but it seems like Ford is competing with themselves
I see the Maverick and Ranger as totally different beasts, both serving a purpose. If I was an off-roading kind of guy or used my truck consistently for work/hauling purposes, I wouldn't consider the Maverick.

Conversely, if I was looking for a daily commuter with occasional light duty/Lowe's runs, I wouldn't consider the Ranger.

That said, the loaded Lariat I ordered in late '22 and finally arrived as a '24 last year for $36k is now up around $41k comparably equipped (tonneau cover, sunroof, etc), but that increase also includes AWD and 4K. Still not all that unreasonable in today's market IMO.

Latest news I've seen is that he might decide tonight. At which point a bunch of news outlets updated their "Trump tariffs" articles with that information, but leaving existing headlines and summaries in place.

I'm keeping an eye on the news, but nothing official yet.
Not sure how accurate, but….
