Where do you get the "a few thousand more"

I just priced an equivalent XLT 2025 Maverick and a 2024 Ranger and the Ranger costs $8,630 more than the Maverick not the "few thousand more" you state. I fact it is four times larger.

2024 Ranger XLT 2.3L Base $39,745 + 495 Tow Package + $1,595 destination = $41,835

2025 Maverick XLT 2.0L EcoBoost Base $29,050 + AWD $1,020 + CP360 $795 + 4K-Tow $745 + $1,595 destination = $33,205

Check Build & Price on the Ford.com site.
My pricing was different. Comparing a 2025 tremor with a ranger xlt FX4. That’s where I got it

The Maverick haters try to find a way to hate mavericks. F-150’s are just a few thousand more. Right?

Made a simple statement that I believed may provoke some intelligent thought and conversation. I guess that’s asking way too much

Not trying to be a negative Nelson but does anyone think that Ford is dangerously close to pricing the Maverick out of the market? I mean, at this point, for a few thousand more one could get a 4x4 Ranger. Personally I like my Maverick and wouldn’t change my choice but it seems like Ford is competing with themselves
I agree not to mention that they never offer any rebates and no low interest rates from ford. even the last 2 years during ford truck month Maverick's where not included.

Maybe, I can't understand why people buy those though. Fake leather and useless cameras with the same engine and bed!
Because we can afford them and want them. Our rationale for a purchase may not meet your expectations. Go suck a lemon. ;-)

people seem to forget ford is a business. they don't give away vehicles for free. they exist to make money for their stockholders, they do this by building and selling vehicles. a smart company will sell their items for the most amount the public is willing to pay. only way to find that out is to price and see how sales go.

sales on the maverick are going well, so clearly people are willing to pay $$$ dollars for the vehicle. when sales slump, barring other factors, ford will have priced the vehicle too high and will have to lower the price, offer rebates, incentives, etc. if the price is more than you are willing to pay, go buy a different vehicle. someone else may be willing to pay more, doesn't make them a better or worse person than you, just someone who wants it and will pay that price.

so, as long as people are willing to pay whatever ford is selling them for, they will continue to try and make more money, as their stockholders demand. ford isn't a charity.

One can save the raised amount on the mav over the ranger by mpg. Plus the cost of the ranger is hugh, and the length, etc.

I completely understand what you are saying. I got a few goodies on my XLT but I didn't want to spend more to get The lariat. But, you can kind of say that about anything like why would somebody spend $300,000 on a house when $100,000 house does the same thing. I guess it's just what people want and that's what makes the world go around.

True, but is it? A lot differentiates those houses. There is not a huge difference between Lariat and XLT

Good point. Maybe I didn't think that through.

Adaptive Cruise
Pleather seats
I think the 360 camera too

There's some significant features added with the Lariat trim. Whether those features matter to you might be a different story of course.

It may be a move to increase the delta between the newer 25s and the 24s that are stuck on dealers lot under the sales hold. Now that the 25s are showing up, the 24s need to be lower priced. Instead of lowering the 24s... just raise the 25s?
