Do you enjoy driving your Maverick?

I've never owned a truck before for 2 main reasons: I don't like driving them, greatly preferring a sedan or wagon, and I can't park a fullsize supercrew in my garage.

I like driving my Maverick more than any vehicle I've owned the past 10 years. It's sporty enough, has good steering feel, doesn't have overly intrusive stability management, and has enough power to be interesting if not kinda in the vicinity of actually fast. (Kinda. LOL.)

I've found it very useful to have a bed and underseat storage, and for me it's a game changer to haul MTBs on a tailgate pad instead of the nuisance of bike racks. I've used them all - roof, hitch tray, horizontal hanger and they are all a pain to load and unload bikes, and they're in the way when not in use.

Haha, you and me both! Do it all the time anymore. That 32 Ford is kind of cool though. Think if you could put the Maverick drive drain under it and get on the interstate!

I've had mine for under 3 months. All my previous vehicles have been RWD V8 cars. Everything about it feels kind of weird to me. The last time I bought a vehicle was 2001, so that's a major factor.
I'm not used to sitting up so high, and I'm still not accustomed to the poor rear/side visibility. I'm super paranoid with every lane change. I can't figure out why an over-the-shoulder look shows me so little. My first car was a 1969 Mustang SportsRoof, which has an incredibly wide C pillar, and I only had a side mirror on the driver's side, but visibility was much better than in my Maverick.
I'm very impressed with the power of the engine, but I'm still not used to the stumbling transmission. It really zips, but you have to sit through a bog first. I thought it was turbo lag (because I've never had a turbocharged vehicle before), but from what I've read here it's the transmission, not the turbo.
I'm also still getting used to the handling. It feels weird to me because I'm used to RWD cars where I sit much lower. I guess this is a FWD feel. It feels a little tippy, and it's awkward in sharp turns, but I haven't skidded it yet.
Also, throttle by wire, ABS, electric power steering, and a collision warning system are all new to me. So it's kind of a lot.

Think of FWD as pulling your vehicle instead of pushing it. FWD will pull you through curves. I've always loved how FWD can do that.

Learn to adjust the mirrors for any blind spots. It may be more outward adjustments than you're used to. Use Blind Spot feature if you have it. It's one reason I ordered CP360 on my XL. Over your shoulder looking is usually not the way, in a pickup. Blind spot mirrors also help. Get glass ones, like these, if your truck didn't come with them. I love driving my Maverick Hybrid. The best feature is the buttery-smooth no-shift transmission. And no clunky auto-stop-start nuisance to have to disable every time I drive it.
With the exception of occasional infotainment system weirdness & a couple of dash rattles, it's been absolutely trouble-free so far, both mechanically and electrically.

I went from a 350 diesel lariat to an XLT hybrid. I love this little trucklet. It doesn't have many bells and whistles, which i like, I am too old to have truck tell I am not looking at the road. Plus, after I get it set up to tow, it's all I need and want. Really enjoy it. AND NO DEF OR REGENS HAPPY DAYS.

Dumb generic post, but I was driving around this weekend and thought "you know, I really do enjoy driving this truck".

I've had way "cooler" vehicles that were more performance/luxury oriented, but the Maverick handles/drives so well. Every time I hop in I'm content.

I was on the highway, backroads, and in stop/go traffic over a long trip today and not once got sick of being in the truck for an extended amount of time. There's a sweet spot with this truck that's hard to describe.

I also really enjoy the features of the Lariat package in my Tremor. The seats rock, plush but firm. The B&O sound system is great. It's cold AF out here in the northeast and the heated function in the seats/steering wheel do not disappoint. The AWD system has also rocked while the roads are slick.

I truly enjoy my ‘22 Mav Lariat Hybrid! I’ve got 27.7k miles and I’ve driven it to DisneyWorld and it’s been an exceptional vehicle! Still have the original Michelin tires and I’m averaging 38-40 mpg. The only modification I put on it is a retractable bed cover and front door tinted windows. I have 9 payments left on a zero % loan. Once paid off, I’ll wait a couple of years before I buy anything else!

I do enjoy it. It's a very dynamic vehicle, especially for the price, and I appreciate that very much. I can go explore forest service roads, then stomp on the gas on the onramp for even more fun. And it handles pretty damn well.

This is my first pickup since my 80's Nissan Frontier. Huge difference in every sense. Does it drive like my 07' BMW? Of course not. It is what it is and it does it well for a truck.

Driving the Maverick is ok. In a comparably priced vehicle the seats are better in my wife's Escape. On a road trip I prefer the ride my 350. But also on a road trip I prefer the fuel bill of the Maverick over both. On a spring or autumn day. I put the top down on my Smart car and enjoy that.

The gas mileage for me has been less than ideal in my first week of hybrid ownership and I'm chocking that up to very cold temperatures (single digits, and some negatives on my commute to work in the morning) and the break in period. Averaging 27mpg on the first tank. any mileage tips would be appreciated!

Also, I have a concern that more seasoned maverick/truck owners in general can probably help me with: the rear seat bottom in mine doesn't really lock in its normal position. If I wiggle the seat cushion,I can lift it up without pulling the release strap. Just curious if that's normal or if something may be out of adjustment?

I'd say my 2024 AWD Lariat drives like a $40,000 vehicle that I paid $37,000 for.

My seat locks in every time when I drop it from about a foot high.
Check and make sure nothing is in the way.

I appreciate it, I never lifted the rear seat before putting the seat covers on, so I'm curious if that's the reason it's being weird, I'll have some time this week to check it out more!
