Yeah, I always tell people to get the fluids out of their trannies :) I figured you meant miles, I'm the odd one out in this forum living in the land of kilometers.
No you’re not. A lot of Canadians on this list have to deal with metric crap too! I still use half and half, kilometres, litres, miles, gallons. It still confuses me, Was brought up on standard, not metric in school!

I feel your pain. I to had my trans replaced in October. At 71k. As crazy as this is, it is in for another one. The replacement needed replacing at only 3k. Slipped and literally banged into gears.
So now I'm waiting for it to be completed. Apparently these transmissions are NOT readily available and take a bit to get after you finally get authorization from warranty to go ahead. Luckily I'm in a loaner.

I'm wondering if this is the case, upgrading to the Hybrid would be even more beneficial since I wouldn't have to worry about a potential transmission failure. I've heard horror stories about both drivetrains so I'm not sure which one to really believe at this point. I've been under the impression the EB is the lesser evil from their owners but the Hybrid owners will say there's is the lesser evil.

Wouldn't it be nice to get the upgraded axles while they are in the process of replacing your transmission?
He technically has “upgraded” axles as he has an EB and the Tremor axles are swappable.

Hybrid 22-24 is the ones that are total ass.

Is the warranty different in Mexico?

In the US, the powertrain warranty is 5yr/97000km (I converted the 60000m to km).
It must be.... I just peeked at my window sticker on my '24 and it states 5y-60K Powertrain.

That's the plan, though I will wait a couple days before bringing that up so that it won't lead to confusions. The dealership is still sorting out the rental vehicle for me. I also plan to mention the TSB for the rattling seats and get the PTU and RDU their fluid changes.
OK, newbie here. What are the PTU and RDU referring to? TYIA.

Oh god, it's me again. I promise I'll be pious and religiously mantain the drivetrain, help me avoid the ford curse.

All hybrids are ecvt both Ford and non Ford. There might be some really old ones that aren't but I'm not aware of any.
Ummmm . . . NO. eCVT and CVT are NOT ALIKE. Even the transmissions in Toyota's are different. The CVT in a Corolla is much different than an eCVT in a Prius.

I was saying all by hybrids are ecvt I didn't say anything about CVT and ecvt being similar.

PTU is the power transfer unit, it's what splis power to enable All wheel drive, and the RDU is the rear drive unit, which is the rear differential with the mechanism that actually disconnects power to the rear wheels when not needed.

I got what you were saying but it’s not true to paint with such a broad brush stroke.

Honda offered a CRZ with a manual (and earlier civics) and then I’m pretty sure that Hyundai/Kia has offered their hybrids with a DCT so there are different flavors but yes the eCVT is most popular.

A manaul hybrid is kinda neat I have no idea how that would even work though lol. I forgot about the DCT haven't seen those in a while.

Yep, as far as I can tell it's bumper to bumper 3 years/60k km and nothing more, extended leaves out parts of the body and most of the interior.

You are correct, at least the older version (they upgraded to a wet clutch cvt). That's why I specified the SEL, which has a conventional automatic paired with a non-turbo engine. I'm with you - I owned a Kia Soul with a cvt, and it just never grew on me. I avoid CVTs like the plague, which is hard because they are everywhere these days.
Thankfully, the hybrid has an eCVT not a crappy CVT.
