I got a chip in my windshield on the way back from the Grand Canyon on the 4th of July. Luckily before it turned into a large crack Safelite was able to repair it.

The way it's going. I think I'm just counting the days, until somebody runs into the back of me.
That also seems to be a thing with Mavericks
UPDATE... Almost happened today.
Some guy in an best up Mercedes-Benz screeches to a halt behind me not realizing we were stopped.
My Lane could not turn right, because of a person in the crosswalk.. This guy swings to the center lane and almost gets nailed a car coming up behind him.

I got two very small stone chips about 3/4" apart near the bottom of the windshield on 2023 XLT.
Repaired by Safelite, but a crack started on the way home.
Windshield replaced next day by Safelite. Everything is fine again, so far.

Safelite replaced my Lariat Lux windshield two and 1/2 years ago when I got a rock crack 12 days after purchase. $100 State Farm deductible.

No issues since, it even fixed the windshield rattle I had from the factory that was driving me crazy.

Put on an Aeroskin 2 deflector soon afterwards and haven't had a rock and rarely bugs hit since.

I've had 2 windshields crack. Luckily my insurance ( State Farm)covered both repairs. Only had to cough up a $100 deductible. The local auto glass co who replaced it, told me Mavericks and Bronco's are most of his business.

I have been considering the lipped/bug free deflector for my new to me Mav. Good to know it is working.

Getting re-replaced windshield next week. I bought the truck used with a 5" diameter crack near the rear-view mirror. (I really wish I had taken a picture, it looked like a perfect circle, maybe 3/4 of the way around. No idea how it didn't shatter) They replaced it as part of the deal, but the installer or shipper had slightly chipped the replacement, so it needs replaced. good on them for owning up to it before I even picked it up.

I am a little of a clean glass OCD'er. Always stopping and washing window at gas stations, even if it a potty stop.
I can't wait to get this windshield replaced so I can coat it and keep it cleaner.

I'm your cousin. Gotta have clean windows on my car. My wife constantly asks me how I keep the windows so clean. LoL!

Not as hot as these past couple days, but the reflective windshield dash cover might have created an oven effect or heated up the black edge fritting from the inside. Maybe there was an impact that prompted the crack, but I don't feel anything with my fingernail.

Any updates... Did get you windshield replaced?

The crack is across the passenger side, so I am not replacing it until I have to for some reason. I might as well get in a road trip or something before putting in fresh glass.

Just got my third windshield installed a couple of weeks ago. Original, then two replacements. Both times started as a chip roughly centered about four inches above the dash. Then quickly began cracking first vertically then horizontally. Fortunately, both were covered by insurance with a small deductible, and I have a nephew who is an expertly qualified installer at an outstanding local auto glass company (American Eagle in Terre Haute, IN).
