I ordered the XLT LUX originally and got a call within a day about the constraints. After looking over the options I decided to order just Lariat no lux pkg it had the things I wanted most.
While I live in northern Minnesota and could use the heated seats I've never had that before so won't miss it really.

No question, Lariat. Totally worth the upgraded creature comforts and safety features. Not to mention the interior colors. I've gotten many compliments on the interior. It's the one feature passengers notice right off.

I am soooo happy with my "Hybrid 1st Edition Rapid Red" decision! I get it and agree the XLT is a great sweat spot choice, but I use and appreciate everything that came with my Maverick for $33K.
LOVE:
  1. The interior looks / comfort (active-x seats, Color, larger driver display, style & storage) I have a Border Collie so having the Active-x seats is a MUST due to her fur!
  2. Infotainment Sync-3 / B&O, absolutely no complaints (added wireless Android Auto) I also did the hack to play youtube / movies / web browsing.
  3. Sun ROOF & remote Rear Window control - I use them every time I get in the Mav!
  4. All the Remote / Keyless start (push button) features is really convenient.
  5. Single touch up/down on ALL windows from the driver control. Awesome b/c of my dog!
  6. GAS mileage is wonderful!!! Especially when it was over $6 /per gal.
  7. Exterior - LOVE, LOVE the Rapid Red!
  8. Spray in Bed Liner & Tonneau cover.
  9. Adaptive Cruise Control - I've never had this before, but am very much getting used to it.
  10. All the other driving safety stuff, getting used to them as well with no complaints at all.
  11. Heated Seats / steering wheel / outside mirrors. I'm in SoCal and haven't used them much yet, but when I have... I liked it.
  12. More driver seat controls w/ lumbar adjustment. If I didn't have this I would probably get used to it, but having it is really nice.
  13. Dual climate controls is also something that will come in handy at some point.
  14. Acoustic Windshield... without being able to compare a Mav without it I don't know, but I have learned that the replacement cost is $1500.00

I’d recommend printing out the builds you would want at different trims and comparing the actual differences to see what you care about. I compared the XLT and Lariat with and without Lux, and I settled on Lariat for 2023 (assuming similar). It felt worthwhile and helped me really compare what I was considering.

I didn’t care much for the XLT Lux options so that was an easy rule out. For the Lariat, the niceties like push to start, more adjustable seats, dual zone AC, etc were worth it for me. Then the Lariat Lux seemed nice but just too high of a total price for me to stomach. So the Lariat is where I’ve settled.
Yes. A stock Hybrid Lariat with a hitch. Great value for me. "The eye of the beholder"

Just about everytime I am getting in or out of my truck(Lariat) people are saying how much they love it...especially the interior!

I originally ordered a 22 XLT + Luxury. I ended up dropping the Luxury Package in an effort to get scheduled and now have an early October build date (provided I haven't been bumped back).

When I wasn't sure I would get scheduled I pre-ordered a 23 Lariat with everything on it except for the moonroof. There are a lot of things to like on the Lariat. For me in particular the acoustic windshield and the ability to get adaptive cruise and the B&O sound system stand out.

If my XLT wows me I can always cancel the Lariat order. Otherwise I will likely sell the XLT once the Lariat arrives.

The thing that makes it hard to decide is that while I have sat in a Lariat before I ordered the XLT I haven't seen an XLT in person nor have I actually driven either trim. That is the problem with no one having any stock on the lot. If auto companies want to shift to a low stock, order everything strategy they need to make sure people can actually see and experience the vehicles.

Ford won’t tell anyone what it is. They will tell you it’s not vinyl. It’s a chemically made synthetic material they invented.
And yet my "order accepted" letter from Ford confirming my order for a '23 Lariat Hybrid says "vinyl seats" plain as day... LOL

PS - I'd really prefer cloth over ActiveX or even leather (since it's not perforated and there's no vented seat option). But to get ACC, you gotta get the ActiveX. I'll live with it.

I just have one question....those that went XLT Lux with rear slider...how do you open/close it? Longer arms or always take a rear seat co-pilot? Lol... all jokes aside, I LOVE my Lariat. Its also the little things like the ambient lighting, signature led DRL front and rear, and intelligent access with push button start. XLT what?? Lol
The question for rear siding window how hard is it to open the back door and then side rear window open? I have the XLT and upgraded my stereo and I would bet sounds better then b and o which I heard is not that great. As far as seats go if I want I can upgraded them do which is still cheaper to do then ordering a Lariat. I had push button start not a big deal not to have it

So you are saying that when it starts raining, and you have the rear slider open, that it's not to hard to just get out, open the back door and close it? Great reasoning. As far as B&O, I never mentioned this... lol. Also just ordered a 2023.... you guessed it Lariat. ;)

Good luck with Lariat not worth it for the extra money to me.I had convertibles and a Chevy s10 for 18 years with a manual rear siding window. A little rain never bother me!

Lariat lux because I wanted the adjustable cruise control. We have it in our Escape and it has spoiled me. Especially on long two-lane routes where the car in front doesn't have your sense of urgency and you can't really pass. It's nice to let the car handle the speed.

I'm from the South and I thought the heated steering wheel was a gimmick we would never use.

I was wrong.

No luck needed... its just a personal preference. Nothing wrong with the XLT....both my 2016 and 2021 F150s are both XLTs... perhaps more optioned than most Lariats but XLTs all the same. Convenience is more important to me. Cost is merely a figure. Who cares what something cost if you enjoy it. Money is as easy to make these days as it is to spend. Trust me, I'm tired. Lol
