Hoping to get some advice from all of you here. I went in today and worked with my local dealer about ordering a 2024 Lariat Hybrid. Azure Gray with a moonroof. Placed a deposit. No confirmation from Ford yet as the dealer said they were only able to put in 10 orders today and would be putting mine in tomorrow.

A dealer 75 minutes away that I've previously interacted with let me know that a customer backed out of a 2023 XLT Hybrid Lux. Cactus Gray, no moonroof. A few DIO that I don't care about. They are asking MSRP 29,500 + tax and registration. Not my favorite color and was hoping for moon roof and remote start. VIN available, no ETA.

Every other Maverick in my area is a $5k ADM minimum with most asking $10k over MSRP.

How important are the push button start, CP360A, remote start, power rear window and moonroof to you on your ordered 2024 Mav Lariat vs none of those options, but having windshield wiper deicer and keypad entry still on 2023 XLT?
Are those options worth $7700 to you?

Personally if I was in that situation I would buy the 2023 and if I did not enjoy it by the time the 24 is at the dealer then I trade it in for the 24 and pay the difference. Mavericks are holding their value so I wouldn't be surprised if you even get a little bit more than MSRP possibly.

There’s no sure thing about ordering a new hybrid or even timing of when if it actually gets delivered. As they have stated only percentages again this year around 35% hybrid 🤔 so if’s you want to buy the one available coming & still order the more expensive one at least you can drive it and decide if it does come.

If you order a '24, there's no guarantee that it will go into production.
I ordered a '22 hybrid XLT with Lux and CP360 back on 21 Oct 21. I waited and waited, and to make a long story short, it was eventually canceled in Dec '22.
I ordered a '23 hybrid Lariat w/Lux andCP360 on 15 Sept 22, and I just received the notice about it that it will also not go into production. That makes it 0-2 when ordering and waiting.
If I were you, I'd make some sacrifices and get what you can get with whatever is available. Why? Each dealer only has so many allocations. Chances are, your ordering dealer has been taking pre-orders before the official order date. That means there will be a lot of disappointed customers with canceled orders right from the get-go. I'd get what is available, no questions asked.

Well, that's the exact build I want. So if you don't take it, please let me know which dealership.

Solid advice. I agree with this.

Secure that 23 for now and still order the 24. Better to have a choice then possibly have nothing at all. I ordered three Mavericks for 23 from different dealers and I couldn't get a single one scheduled.

I'd do the same as recommended above, buy the 2023, trade it or sell it when the 2024 arrives in a year or so.

That's just what I did. Drove the XLT for 2 months and when the Lariat came in the Dealer gave me almost $2k more than I paid for the XLT

I would take the 2023. I ordered my 2022 Lariat in September 2021. I waited 18 months and they told me they were changing to a 2023 in December 2022. Then the dealer screwed up and failed to order 360 a as on option whis was standard on the 2022 Maverick Lariat so I was screwed. The dealer didn’t tell me and I took ownership. Called FORD THEY SAID TOO BAD, Take it up with the dealer so be careful. But all aside I love my Maverick, Lariat all almost 50 mpg around the Villages Fl and 40 mpg on the highway.

I sold a 22 Lariat when my 22 XLT arrived and still no regrets.

I'm in the same boat. Go for the Lariat, you're going to have it for a long time- treat yourself. It's not like you're getting a F150 Lariat that would be a LOT more. And, it will be worth more whenever you decide to sell.
