XLT vs Lariat - road noise level?

My 18" Michelin Primacy tires are pretty quiet on the road in my Lariat. My truck is as quiet as most of the cars I have been in. Sound is not an issue in my truck at 8K but I doubt I would rebuy these tires. Reviews are not good for the tire compared to the other Michelins. People complain the Primacy is a very cheap Michelin prone to blowouts, sidewall issues and poor tire wear. I don't plan on rotating them with AWD so I'll see how they last at 25-30K. Tread pattern looks like it is made for pure highway driving so it may lousy in the snow even if they are quiet on the highway.

Inform me why AWD affects why to not rotate tires, please?

Still waiting to be scheduled, but don't forget the Lariat also has 18' wheels with Michelin Primacy tires. In my experience the road noise from tires would predominate over wind noise. I would expect the decrease from the windshield to be real, but minor, compared to the improvement from the Michelin premium tires.

What tires do you recommend? My XLT with the blackout package came with the Michelin Primacy 18” tires.

I don't see a need to rotate tires unless I see a tire wear problem or have a problem with an individual tire and need to isolate it. Rotating tires very 5K is a waste of tiime and unless you clean the mating surfaces thoroughly before reinstalling you can create vibration issues. I have never seen a tire mechanic bother to clean those mating surfaces.
