A little more of a joke, but it is fine for us. Having heard the B&O system, there is zero chance I'm paying any sort of premium for that.
I loved the Fender audio in my old Volkswagen. I was expecting similar sound in the Lariat. Not so. I think part of the problem is the cabin itself needs more sound deadening. The tune though is just way off too. I wonder if they could fix that with an update. Not that they'd bother.

I’m not into upgrading a vehicle after the fact anymore (did that when I was younger) and I have the money to spend to get it the way I want straight from the factory so why not just order a Lariat Lux??? Likely won’t have my hybrid LL until the end of the year or later though.

push button start (I’ve been driving an XL since April and this key in the ignition mess is damn near barbaric to me. I’m not rich by any means but even some inexpensive cars have PTS).
Larger instrument cluster
Pleather seats
Adaptive cruise
One touch up/down windows front and rear
Ambient lighting
Much better head and tail lights

lot of other things too.

Including the ‘Smokers Option’? Wonder how many of these Ford has supplied and…are they a constrained item!

Not necessarily true. Vinyl seats suck if you live anywhere with warm weather. Living in the south I would never buy a car with vinyl seats, so that rules out the Lariat.
Doesn't get hotter than Southern AZ. Still don't want cloth.

I’m in Georgia and the only seats that have been hot have been black leather seats in the direct sunlight. Gray and brown vinyl seats have never been a problem.

I just have one question....those that went XLT Lux with rear slider...how do you open/close it? Longer arms or always take a rear seat co-pilot? Lol... all jokes aside, I LOVE my Lariat. Its also the little things like the ambient lighting, signature led DRL front and rear, and intelligent access with push button start. XLT what?? Lol

I don't devote the most money possible to depreciating assets.
Ordinarily, I'd strongly agree with that statement...

But with used Mavericks selling for $8-10K over MSRP, the Maverick IS (at least in the short term) an APPRECIATING asset!. ;)

(Written after 6+ months of unsuccessfully searching for a Hybrid Lariat Lux/360 at anywhere close to MSRP. Yep, you guessed it – I missed out on the '22 order window. But I will be at my dealer bright and early the day the '23 order window opens!

I would like the Lariat but in Canada if you want the Hybrid.....The Lariat Trim Level is not available. That may change for the MY23.....but at the present time it is only available with the All Wheel Drive Option and I want the Hybrid.

When I found out about the Maverick I was thrilled. Finally I can afford a pickup again. The XL won me on the price, but lost me on no cruise. I use cruise all the time, even in city driving when I need to go 25 its just so much easier to hit the cruise button than constantly look to see how fast I'm going. Those speed traps are everywhere.

So onto the XLT. Loved the look of the interior. Had cruise control and the heated seats which I love living in N. Mich. plus the lux package had a spray in bed liner. Win Win. Then onto the Lariat. I disliked the look of the bronze and the seat color. Just too dull for me for some reason. It had Adapted Cruise Control. I had to read up on that to even know what that was. Yes, I don't know a lot about vehicles. Since I don't do that much freeway driving that wasn't a need. The Push-button start and the electronic rear window was interesting to me since I've never had a push button start. Even my 2018 Escape doesn't have it. But to pay that much for those 2 comforts I decided to pass. I liked the wireless android auto but I intend to use the Motorola dongle to get that. (I had saved up a ton of points and this actually didn't cost me anything to purchase.)

I will be the only one driving so opening the sliding window will have to be done before I start the car. I may have to come up with a way to open it somehow with a duhicky that uses the whatchamycallit and clicks the thingamabob while in the drivers seat.

I thank this site for all the members who have made suggestions on ways to make my XLT even better, like the wireless dongle. I didn't know that was a thing either. I just hope it works. It's been sitting in the box for almost 10 months waiting on my pickup.

Not trying to change your mind on which trim level YOU should buy, but for me, Adaptive Cruise Control (which has full stop/start capabiity) is AT LEAST as useful on surface streets and in stop-and-go traffic jams as it is on the highway. It maintains the following distance (actually time interval) you set, while smoothly accelerating and decelerating with the traffic ahead of you – even when that traffic comes to a full stop and resumes. Traffic jams are far less stressful with the ACC helping you out.

Obviously, you still have to "manually" stop for traffic lights and stop signs if you're the first vehicle in line, but if others are in front of you, it maintains that "safe" interval for you, allowing you to focus on the idiots in the adjacent lanes who are gawking at your Maverick instead of paying attention to their own driving... Or to watch for the Porsche driver who "thinks he can make it" ahead of you. Or whatever... Just a lot less stress in that type of stop-and-go traffic.

Don't get me wrong, ACC is absolutely fantastic on the highway, but with the automated stop/start capability, it's equally great for non-highway use!

I never thought of that. Maybe in a few years I will trade my XLT pickup for a Lariat. (only if I don't have to have that interior)

I have an XLt and love it. Now that it is our primary vehicle we are going to Lariat Luxury because of the features.

Haha, very true but based on the markups I've seen on XL models, the return on investment might be better on the low end, too. :)
