Wiper arm hits the engine hood

Anyone else notice that the when raising the driver's side wiper arm it makes contact with the engine hood after only 2 or 3 inches?
The passenger side arm doesn't make contact with the hood.

These are adjustable, Ford should
be able to fix this no problem.

Edit, Could you move it up your windshield and than up off it?

There are other car models like that. You'll need to run the wipers up about halfway and then shut off the truck.

Apparently the Maverick has some sort of maintenance mode for the wipers that moves them part way up the windshield.

I did a google search and found Toyota, Kia, and BMW, didn't see anything pop up about Ford. But anyway here's a Toyota video. I don't know if Ford has a service/maintenance position for the wipers. Maybe someone that actually has their Maverick could check.

Turn the key to the on position, turn wipers on, once they are halfway up turn the key off. That is the maintenance mode. A lot of cars are like that. I believe ford even put out a tsb about it.

I've owned a lot of vehicles over the years and this is the first time I've come across this issue.

I have a Lexus and it does it. My Toyota Avalon did it. And if I remember correct, my Subaru's did it as well. Not sure why all of a sudden (since 2017) but it is a pain in the butt.

Re the video-it didn't work on my Maverick.
Turning the ignition off while the wipers were going worked.

Just manually move the wipers up. I've never owned a car that you could move them on your own, but with the Mav there is zero resistance when the car is off. There is also nothing in the manual about not doing this during the replacement process so .

Also, not so fun fact the manual states "The rain sensor is very sensitive" but there is no rain sensor on any model. I would have paid the extra $2 for that.

My Audi has a maintenance setting that brings the blades to a vertical position for replacement. Pretty common nowadays.

I have had my Maverick for 1 week the wiper arms have scratched paint on engine hood on both sides!
