I have an EcoBoost for the same reason that people climb Mount Everest.
Because it was there.
Logical me was smitten by the Hybrid's hypothetical fuel economy. Ordered a Hybrid in August 2021. Eleven months later, Ford threatened to open the order book for 2023. I decided to place another Hybrid order with a different dealership. When I arrived at the distant dealership, they had the EcoBoost available on the lot with exactly the same color and options I had ordered as a Hybrid. No AWD, no 4K towing, but I don't need those, have a 4WD F150 that tows 10K.
Took the EcoBoost for a test drive and I was blown away by the performance of this Truck. It sure felt fast to me. Logical me was dispatched and emotional me wanted to drive it home. Unfortunately, the dealer wanted $10K of additional markup, so I didn't drive it home that day. After two weeks of further negotiation, I did drive it home after paying significantly less ADM. After waiting a year, I finally had a Maverick!
My Hybrid order finally arrived after a 17 month wait. It's great too, but I'm keeping the EcoBoost. It's got the power. And that will do.
