Why keyless door entry instead of using app?

The keypad was $200 when I ordered my truck in 12/23. Not sure what they charge to program it and install. ( I have not ordered the keypad yet. )

You can order today on a build for 195 but on the accessories sit it says 120 for the unit maybe the difference is the install/programming. I want it mounted on the window frame not the body. We will see.

Because I hate messing with apps.. They are nearly as annoying as passwords. Not quite as useless but more annoying.

Your numbers are going to be sideways if that would bother you. The numbers are actually rectangular so they can't be turned 90 degrees unfortunately.

Similar thought. This feature was on the 2023 XLT I ordered but was dropped when my order was flashed to a 24
XLT.

I put a nice leather cover on my key fob. However, it made a large key fob even larger and heavier to carry around. I love the keypad. It is fast and I like all of the options it offers.

When working in the yard, I don't carry my phone or keys. If the tailgate is locked, I find the keypad very convenient.

When running a quick errand, I’ll leave the keys and phone in the Maverick and use the keypad to unlock the truck upon return. When carrying groceries with the keys in my pocket, I’ll also use the keypad to gain entry.

If the cost is reasonable, I would get it. It’s a great convenience. I could lock/unlock using my Apple Watch but the keypad is faster. At first I wasn’t sure I would use it but I have come to really appreciate having it. It grows on you.

Camping and canoeing. Don't want to always take phone or keys with me and can also have a set of backup keys in the Mav for the camper I or others can get to with no keys or phone needed.
I can also unlock the Mav and tailgate when needed without having the keys or phone in my pocket.

Have had truck 6+ months. Never used the keypad. Never used the FordPass except as a tire pressure check.
I must be a Luddite. Nope. First computer was in 1980. TT99/4A.
I just find some stuff laughable.

because the last time I locked my keys in my truck (it was my 06 Nissan Frontier about 8 weeks ago in Sonora Mexico), I locked the cell phone inside too. yeah.... dumb... a keypad would have saved me breaking into the locking cap (no damage.. thank goodness), unloading all of the gear, breaking open the sliding rear window (no damage again.. thank goodnesss), having a skinny 60 year old bystander climb through the bed and wedge his arm, shoulder, head through the rear sliding window to retrieve the keys with a coat hanger (retrieved from my luggage).... gave the older 60 year old gentlemen enough money to buy groceries for a week.

so yeah, bought the keypad and paid for the programming for my new Maverick (received last Wednesday).

If you have the intelligent access and you lock you keys in with the pad, can't you just touch the door handle to gain access? If so the beach/hiking scenario would be no bueno.

When wife goes paddle boarding she leaves her phone and vehicle fob locked in the maverick. When she returns uses the keyless entry to get back into vehicle
