According to Honda, the Ridgeline was not designed to steal sales from the more traditional trucks sold in North America, but was developed to “give the 18% of Honda owners who also own pickups a chance to make their garages a Honda-only parking area.
Desperate much?
Dimensionally, the Ridgeline...
Absolutely nothing about the Ridgeline fits the midsize definition. Honda publicly says the Ridgeline was designed for existing Honda owners, not to compete with anyone else. Accept it!
The Ridgeline is absolutely not mid size. It is much closer to full size than mid. Insisting on comparing it against smaller trucks only shows how afraid Honda is.
Not a single car manufacture pegs their price to inflation. The whole point of the Maverick is to compete with entry level sedans. I don't see a giant price increase.
The Ridgeline is an extremely compromised (price, rear leg room, fuel economy, body clearance) and niche just like the Toyota T-100. Both are intentionally designed to be in between sizes to avoid competition.
The Ridgeline is really much closer in price and size, interior width, exterior body...
