Dumb question, I guess. A new first world problem. But Mavericks are going to be so cool, they don’t have to make noise to show off.

Yes, you definitely can, but why? Hybrid thinking is a bit different than gaso engine thinking. We have a hybrid, and I love the silence. In fact, I get a bit annoyed when the engine kicks in when I start it on a super hot day. I will proudly sit in silence at the light with the gas-guzzler revving his engine beside me!Dumb question, I guess. A new first world problem. Very true… or like wearing underwear on outside of your pants.. You can if you want to, but aren’t you defeating the purpose a little bit?yes you can rev a hybrid…. But It’s like wearing your hat sideways? Why

Maybe so the muffler can be cut off and then you can drive it to the cruise events and make noise like all the big growd up trucks?BuT WhY ThO?
I assumed the question was if you could rev the engine without making the vehicle move, and I'm not sure you can on the hybrid. In neutral at a stop, I'd expect the stop-start system to kill the ICE, and it may not respond to the throttle in neutral. It is still an engine. Yes you can rev it.

On some hybrids if you say just changed the oil and want to run the engine for a second so you can properly measure the oil level, you have to put it in maintenance mode as otherwise the ICE may not run.
Sorry, I know its an old topic, but on my Fusion Hybrid, I tried, out of goofing around, and the engine speed increased by at most 200rpm. Basically, I think the hybrid system just won't allow it.I assumed the question was if you could rev the engine without making the vehicle move, and I'm not sure you can on the hybrid.
