What type of shop do I go to in order to get the spray-in? Are there places that spray-ins is one of their specialties? And thanks for your reply.
Ask your dealer if they do it in house or contract with a truck accessories company to do it. Otherwise, companies like Line X or Rhino Liners are nationwide.

Considered a bedrug? Doesn't shout "work truck" and more stylish than a mat or liner, while still utilitarian.

Link to Ford's. There's also other manufacturers making them for Maverick.
I never heard of a bedrug. I'm going to look into it. Thanks

One point I will also agree with whatever you decide to do have it done afterwards by the dealer or a third party. Adding a liner or a tonneau cover to the order may cause a delivery delay. With that said spray in liners will destroy the paint in the bed. You can't remove a spray in liner and go back to the original paint job. Hard cover liners the thing to watch out for is the fitment, make sure they have the cutouts for cubby hole covers and such. The truck bed does have drainage holes in it so water buildup underneath one if it happens shouldn't be an issue.

With that said I think a bed rug or mat is probably the best option for the OP if you are looking to cover the bed to put stuff on along with a tonneau cover so you can use your bed like a giant car trunk except when you need to use it like a truck bed. If a rug or mat doesn't suite your needs you can always trade up to a drop in liner or spray in later on.

If choosing a spray in liner might want a matching exterior color sprayed.

I have a Bedrug and love it. Sweeps out easily and can be hosed off if need be. Made out of a similar material as life jackets. No issues with any mildew and dries quickly when wet. Fits into the bed custom making the floor completely flat. Just held down with velcro so if you want to take it out to clean the bed it is easy to do so. Plus if you are in the bed of your truck it is soft and easy on the knees.

I won't be hauling much other than groceries and maybe garage sale items, which may include pieces of furniture. And I will get a tonneau. Thanks for your help.
I put a box in my bed. When I took the box out I noticed scratches that went all the way through the paint to the body. I didn't notice but the box had metal staples on it. They must have drug across the bed. I was surprised at how easily the paint came off. I would expect the staples to scratch the paint but not completely remove it. I'd think the bed will need protection. Even for light use.

Because of its great gas mileage and higher ground clearance, I plan on ordering a Maverick XLT this summer . I am a female and this will be my first truck and the last vehicle I will buy. I know very little about trucks and, of course, don't want to make any mistakes. So, my question is, which is better: spray-in bed liner, drop-in bed liner, or a truck bed mat? Since I am up there in age, I don't need anything "heavy duty."
Got my Hybrid XLT with the spray in bed liner and I love it. Not a fan of the drop in but I hear they are just as great. So it's just a matter of choice, price and availability. I was one of the lucky 3% to get mine in early April. So very excited and the spray in is awesome and well done.

I keep going back and forth... I like the idea of a spray in and then bed mat on top of that. Line X quoted me $650 to spray the bed so that is kind of expensive.. So for now I'm deciding between the Ford bed mat with the plastic tailgate cover or the impact mat that covers both the bed and tailgate... Then down the road I can always get the spray in liner. I think I'm leaning more toward the Ford bed mat and plastic tailgate cover option as I can reuse the bed mat if I decide to ever get the spray in.

Thanks. I will get a mat and a tonneau, though I am still considering a spray-in also. Thanks again.
I have the rubber mat and tailgate protector, along with a soft tri-fold tonneau cover. The tonneau cover, when properly installed and extended, will keep your truck bed fairly dry, though you may notice some leakage during heavy rains or when washing your truck.

You mentioned in an earlier post that you may be hauling garage sale items (furniture, etc). You’ll probably want to get a roll-up type tonneau instead of the tri-fold. That will provide you the most clearance for large items. The tonneau covers are removable but not sure if that’s something you want to mess with. Bottom Line: Review the various tonneau cover design carefully to find what works best for you.

Drop in Bedliner - Most Durable/Easy to slide heavy objects in and out of the bed. (Wont dent the bed if heavy rocks/objects are thrown in.) Perfect if you never plan on installing any other accessories in the bed like rails/cubbies/covers/etc.

Spray in Bedliner - Most compatible with bed modifications like bed covers/bed lighting as it doesn't take up extra bed space. Great for light duty use but very sandpaper-ish. You might damage it by sliding something like a washing machine/fridge in and out. They also tend to fade and turn white after a couple years.

Bed Mat - Cheapest and most simple option but can be stolen easily and doesn't protect the sides of the bed. Also traps the most water. Also not ideal for transporting heavy objects because imagine sliding a fridge across a rubber pad.

Tough Decision. I went with the OEM Ford drop in because of the $395 price and it's durability. I never plan to use a bed cover because I frequently transport large items that stick out of the bed anyway. I don't plan on installing lights/cubbies. The Maverick already has a bed light at the top and I wouldn't feel comfortable keeping stuff in the cubbies as it could easily be stolen.
