Seeing the recent mud flap discussion got me thinking—what was the very first accessory you bought for your Maverick?

And honestly, looking back now, would you still make it your first purchase?

Maybe it was mud flaps, floor mats, a tonneau cover, some extra storage, or something completely different.

On the flip side, is there anything you thought was a must-have on day one that’s now just collecting dust?

Hopefully this turns into a solid cheat sheet for new owners trying to figure out what’s actually worth spending money on first. 👇

A set of Mabett mudflaps was the very first thing I added to my Mav. Since then I've added a dash cover, center console organizer, Mabett dash cubby phone mount, plugs for the holes in the bottom of the tailgate, tailgate assist, a 12v USB outlet in the bed, side turn signal repeaters (DIY), improved area by the hitch receiver, abd Nabett left rear fender void cover. To come? Mabett rear window vents and maybe bed ratchet straps, I like fender flares but really don't need them and since the thing is black I don't think that adding them would contribute much to the looks. It came w/ factory hard tri-fold tonneau (wouldn't do w/out it!), spray in bed liner (same!).

Floor mats then tailgate assist. Probably all I’ll do.

Ordered the Maverick with floor mats, and tonneau cover. I saw where Ford mud flaps causing paint issues. Removed the tonneau cover because like I posted on a different thread didn't want to slow the order up.

So the answer to that question was mud flaps and tonneau cover. Both ordered and we're waiting in the pole barn for the Maverick to arrive. It was delivered late in the evening but the next morning they both were installed.

The other mods added later. The above infotainment area, center console dividers, and behind the center console using the fib to attach a waste basket and two drink holder. I used Ford points and bought a separate or another storage bin or cubby and installed it on the left side of the bed for extra storage and to eliminate some mud being thrown by the left rear wheel.

First mod was all weather floor mats. Again? I either had them ordered before the truck came in or within the first week! I won't have a vehicle without them since I got them for my '07 Camry.

First was the Maybett mud flaps for paint protection. When I first received them I was concerned that they were too big and stuck too far out away from the body. A recent trip to the great north woods and a cabin on a long dirt road on a rainy day confirmed they were designed right, they were coated with mud side to side but none was present on the side of the truck.

@MABETT mud flaps for certain. They appear to be one of the larger options and that was important as I where I live the roads are dusty/muddy/unpaved/covered in horse and chicken poop. I highly recommend these for non-Lobo applications.

Then in no particular order and from varying vendors:

-Center console organizer tray set
-Rear seat back storage net
-Cup holder silicone insert
-Tailgate assist
-Glove box damper
-Hood water barriers
-Clip-on sunglasses holder (if you have the sunroof, you don't get a glasses holder!)
-Dog platform for the rear seats
-A tube of D12340470 Krytox for the sunroof and door seals
-2" drop hitch ball mount/ 2" ball / hitch lock
-Rough Country flip-up trifold tonneau and pinch clamps to replace the Rough Country ones so that it works with the OEM sliding cargo thing

Still don't know if there is a bug deflector that actually helps to redirect smaller bits of gravel away from the windshield and doesn't cause cowl shake, if there was a definitive answer to that I might get one of those.

First thing was the Musology mudflaps, which have since been swapped out for the Mabett mudflaps. I like that the Mabett flaps are more flexible and don't sit on the paint like some other brands. Then a seat cover for the back seats. I'm still waiting for you guys to make a set of cloth front seat covers. I don't like the "leather" type seats much. Personal preference. 👍
