That Bel Air is a restomod with a huge engine and Brembo brakes. Won best of show. Not mine. Located out of Blue Ridge, GA.
I helped my daughter get a 2024 Bronco Sport Free-Wheelin' so you are safe. Those other vehicles are just fellow car show enthusiasts.
It is tempting. I have it on the Ford Performance suspension (stock Lobo springs and dampening kit) and want to preserve some "real truck" capabilities.
I decided I needed some summer wheels and tires on my 60th Anniversary Mustang GT.
I went with a staggered 19x10 front and 19x11 rear with Continental ExtremeContact Sport 2 tires. 285/35R19 up front and 305/35R19 on the back...
My 19in wheels weigh 20.8 lbs each. That's about 6-7 lbs LIGHTER than the stock 17s. My 255/45R19 tires also weigh less each than the 17in Scorpion ATs. The correct answer is that it depends on what you are trying to do. Do your research and don't rely on bad advice.
Big mea culpa here. I did some additional digging, found the 20D8680400 2 A marking on my calipers. That is a Brembo marking. So Brembo does make the 4-piston calipers that are on the standard Mustang MachE GT. What a roller coaster of good, bad, and useless information. Sorry to pull all...
Ugh. After reading all this I checked my calipers and it looks like I got bamboozled. Brembo stickers but Ford/Continental(ATE) red brakes. Argh! Running on OEM 385mm rotors though.
So be careful when sourcing your upgrades .
I'm running 255/45R19 with no spacers and no issues. I think I've seen several posts with folks running 265s on an offroad/ATR setup but I can't really speak to their experience.
Corrected my mistake.
Stock Maverick wheels tend to be around +37. My Fast Wheels FCO4 wheels are +45 and 19x8.5 inches. I think some other Fords go up to +52. I used this website to see how my new setup should compare to stock. https://tiresize.com/comparison/ You probably already know...
