I have a 22 ecobost awd with the tow package. Got 6 k on her now and have always used the eco mode. I frive mostly on rural roads and highways. Very little city stop and go. Getting 29 mpg. Was wondering if eco mode is actually saving me anything? Wonder what others use.

I use normal and alot of sport mode. Lots of highway and rural back roads. 10,600 miles and average 25mpg. For 4 mpg I'll take my fun.

That’s very respectable fuel economy. I know you’re looking for an EcoBoost owner response, as Hybrid owners have debated this at nauseam. My experience has shown that it’s less about mode and more about foot control. That’s the single most defining element to improving fuel economy on the Mavericks.

This 100%. If you learn normal mode and understand how to charge and use the battery the best it won't matter what mode you are in. They are just tools to help people gain better MPG but it is not needed if you can drive efficiently yourself with foot control.

Driving in the exact same relaxed manner, I do find ECO still makes a difference. I coast to stops, gentle & slow with the pedals, nearly always 100 regenerative braking, and ECO still yields a couple mpg higher. It tends to limit running the ICE in steady state driving, especially above 40 mph or so. Might be the more aggressive recapture when lifting off the accelerator, or at least in part, where you wouldn't be on the brakes.

I will have to try normal mode for a bit. My old car had separate buttons for the driving mode. Getting tiresome to have to click the thing four times eventide I start the car. But very happy with the 29 mpg.

I've owned Chevy Volts since 2013, I always drive in sport mode... so I've been pressing a mode button twice every time I've gotten in my car(s) for 10 years. I think I'm just gonna stick with normal in the Mav, gonna be nice haha.

I just gassed up my new 2023 EB with the tow package today. 420 miles on the tank - 27mpg in eco mode. I don’t know what kind of gas the dealer used, although I suspect regular…..I filled with 93 octane, as they only had 87 or 89 as options.

I am getting 28mpg (8.3L / 100km) over 5500 KM running 50/50 city/driving in 'Normal mode" driving with a fairly heavy foot and not paying any mind to driving conservatively

Eco isnt worth it.

I drove my hybrid over 1.5 years keeping my acceleration at 20-25% range and recently discovered that if I kept my acceleration at 25-35% range of power meter I can get about 6 mpg better gas mileage. I got my Tremor 11 days ago had 21 miles on it. Has 95 now. At 10am today I put noco genius 5 charger on it (it has 70 AH AGM) and at 9pm the green light was dimming about every three seconds so it's working on the last 3-5% which takes longer being an AGM. Since it's over 90°F it will take longer to finish. Who knows if that battery has ever been 100%🤷

We leave our Ecoboost in normal.my wife averages 26-27 mpg, when I drive it I average 31-32 mpg, obviously she has a lead foot. Have never tried eco.curious what my mpg will be.

Are these figures all from the computer or are some of them verified by actual math? From what I have read on here, the computer is about 8 percent too high.
