It should. Don't have one to test on.
Good news, got my final revision done. It's off to get powder coated. Started making an initial run of 38 units. Should be done in 3-4 weeks and will post up in the classifieds. Pricing will be right at 2 bills.
Anti seize or any heavy grease for that matter will work, but just use 18-8(304) hardware and call it a day. The compression of the head will seal 95% of the moisture out and since you've lined the bed it will act as a gasket and keep the other 5% out.
I think at this point the M8 bolts that hold the bracket to the shock tower are the weakest link and those are grade 10 bolts. The other key is being able to pre load everything.
Finally got some uninterrupted free time to start making things for the Blue Lady.
First up a Front Strut Tower Brace. Had a free day last Tuesday thanks to the Hurricane and did my initial CAD drawing for the brace. Got parts ordered and drawings ready. Today I made my first prototype...
Yes, I designed that brace in the picture and will be hopefully making it tomorrow.
If this works out nicely I may make some extra's along with some other suspension related components.
Steeda bar leaves a lot to be desired IMHO. No preload, single coupling point with a M8 bolt in the shear plane. Part is mostly for looks. Will hopefully be fabricating on up soon.
10-32 is not equivalent to M5x0.8. The thread pitches are slightly different with the 10-32 being slightly finer vs a M5's 31.5 threads per inch. You will gall the threads. For something like a brass threaded antenna it won't matter as brass is self lubricating, stainless and steel yes.
I've had a set of these pedals for most of my cars and wanted to put a set on the Blue Lady. Figured it would be a great project for my kids. I just pre-drilled all the holes and had them tighten up the fasteners.
I would have a boosted motor at altitude. Naturally Aspirated motors loose a lot of power from the thinner air. FWD or AWD doesn't matter as much as tire selection. Since your from Michigan I won't preach the benefits of a winter tire and wheel setup
Hell yeah! You can almost taste it now. Strange that it went all the way up to Indiana. Mine pretty much went from Mexico to Texas then over to Florida. Damn that will close to a year for the build. The anticipation must being killing you.
