What does your key look like?

I bought a lock from an online retailer that’s supposed to adapt to fit your key. On the retailer’s website it says “confirmed to fit Maverick” so I bought it in good faith. It does not fit my key. The retailer is trying to say that my key is wrong kind. See the photo for my key. What does your key look like? Is it different? Thanks.

Here's a pic of my XLT key. It's the flip out style like yours but the "etching" I guess you could call is different.

I think they are called a laser cut key.mine is just like yours also .ford can cut one going by your vin number from what i read but aint cheap.i haven’t found anyone near-me that can cut one though.ford might be including the whole remote im not sure but i think it was about 250$

What kind of lock did you buy? All the XL/XLT keys are like yours. Lariat is fob only with the "key" as an insert

My Maverick XL key fob is also the same style as my XL F250 key fob. Confirmed to fit Maverick might mean the lock physically fits the Maverick, not that it's compatible with your key.

Probably by pressing the button and removing the handle, along with the key blade itself... Haha?

My xl key looks just like yours.

I'm guessing you've never had a vehicle with a smart key before. There is a button to release the key from the fob.
