I would ask them to verify that all TSB’s (technical service bulletins) have been addressed.

I am one of those folks that believes that after rhe first couple of thousand miles you need to do an oil change. Done that on all my cars over the many years and get 150K plus on every engine. So you might think about getting a appointment when you get home. Drive safe and dont brag to much about your MAV at the rest stops.

This thread put a thought in my head, which is a precious thing these days. You know there are car buying services... I wonder if there should be a new car inspection service. Somebody who will inspect the car head to tail for you noting every skipped prep step, every scratch, everything - on a written report by a 3rd party.

Personally, I've always just taken the keys and driven away. But if I were buying like a Tesla, I'd love that third party inspection. If it were affordable.

I wouldn't wear a Cowboy piece of apparel if you paid me!!!!!!!
Truth be told, I wouldn't either. Nor would I wear Iggles gear. Remember, it was those iggles fans that pelted Santa with snowballs. As I recall, the stadium had its own court and jail.

Not meaning to hijack your thread with NFL *stuff*... as previously quoted far above, @Ferroplasm had a very good thread thread on this topic that included a pre-delivery checklist and inspection document. He was just a few weeks before you.

TSBs are only performed if a vehicle has the symptoms. They won't be done preemptively.

I guess my dealer is better since they check the truck against all TSB;s rather than wait till the truck beaks down.

Maybe you mean FSAs?

Or the dealer is committing warranty fraud?

They can check and see if they apply. But if they are replacing parts with no symptoms/DTC's, then they are certainly in violation of Ford's Warranty policies.

They may be updating modules on their own dime and not submitting to Ford for payment as a courtesy to the customer?

But I doubt they are fraudulently replacing parts preemptively.

Based on one MTC member's experience, I'd power all the windows down just to be sure they went back up.

Dealership said this is SOP for all new vehicles. Wording is probably different to be technical but for us purchasers, they are doing what they should be doing to have a good experience.

Back in September I ordered a Ford Maverick hybrid but the dealership put it in for an eb instead they say they can't change it to hybrid because of the cut off on hybrids back in November even though I haven't even been assigned a vin yet is this true or they just to lazy to fix it

You are right, it is probably just a difference in terminology!! :)

I was just not wanting customers to expect that certain services be done pre-delivery that a dealership can't do at that point (and be reimbursed under warranty). And for customers be disappointed/concerned that all TSBs weren't competed, when that isn't something that is done pre-delivery.

There are certainly pre-delivery inspections performed, and any issues noted are taken care of. Most FSAs ("recalls") must be done before delivery. And most dealers will spend some extra time checking out the vehicle if there is something a customer is extra worried about. We always do.

Just found out that my own Maverick has been loaded for delivery and should be at our dealership today or tomorrow! :D

Friday, I fly to Philly (will explain later) to pick up "Dirk 41" , (The Greatest Dallas Maverick Ever) and drive it back 1500 miles to Dallas.....well, not in one day. I drive fast but not that fast.

So what do I Inspect? What do I need to be on the lookout for? Been scared enough by the paint threads but those have died off. And the "my Mav broke down 8 feet out of the dealer lot" .....or the "blah blah blah".......talk everywhere on this forum.

Any ideas on things to check? I am usually not diligent on these things but if I have a list, I can follow it.

Any suggestions? Thank you and will update next week!
check tire pressure a lot of people said tire pressure was way too high from factory and drove very hard. also I picked up a new ram in 2014 and it was parked close to a wall and they wanted me to do paper work quickly they said they were very busy, don't fall for that crap inspect vehicle for damage, that RAM had a nice dent in quarter panel. I didn't take it and got a better truck with more options for same price. I want to put my own dents in a new car. that was the 3rd and last vehicle I got at that dealer for trying to pull that stunt. double check fluids, they should of check them in the PDI but cant hurt your going a long distance and from experience they don't use A techs for PDIs. some new kids are coming from Jiffy lube. Techs are hard to find nobody wants to work on cars or trucks anymore. Call ahead ask salesman to look at the vehicle and check it after PDI and park it in a safe place. also I would mention to him no stickers on vehicle some are difficult to get off, plate frames are ok you can always change them when you get home. Your going a long way to pick up a new vehicle take your time looking it over before you sign anything its not like you can go back next day and show them damage or something not working. Sorry this is so long, hope it helps.
