MANY dealerships will try to upsell you to the point where you feel guilty saying no.

No is a complete answer and no explanation is required on your part.

You will really be pressured to buy an extended warranty. Check Granger Ford first so you know what they really cost.

My Truck is still all stock except I did have the dealership put in a spray in bed-liner for me which was a very good decision on my part since I haul a lot of stuff in my truck. I paid $495.

You’re gonna love your truck!

I had dealer install PPF, full front + hood + mirrors.
Knowing what I know now, I would have a local Pro do it instead.

I'm just not super happy with the PPF application; some bubbles that won't go away in the fender. But, its better than nothing.
The mirror caps have a lot of edges and creases and it doesn't look great to me when "up close".

From 5 feet away, none of it is noticeable/a concern..so I'll live with it, since its not worth reinstalling at this stage.

But, I also highly rec PPF for the cheap/thin Ford paint. My Focus ST had so many chips on the front end and hood.. I didn't want to deal with that again.
There are videos on how to remove the bubbles under the ppf if you're interested.

My Maverick should be delivered in the next 2wks. I want to be prepared so I'd like to hear your thoughts on;
Ceramic clear coat: use dealer or someone in the community? Why would you coat interior? Is it worth it? What about spray, wipe off DIY I see advertised?
Financing: I had great credit- 800+
Should I try pre approval with Ford or local bank. Or wait and work with the dealership?
Anything Else?
Use past wax, and pay cash. Both will save you alot of money!

Check the mileage. Up to 25 is normal for testing/moving. Mine came with 134 on the odometer. Salesman tried to tell me this was from “extra” (random vehicle) testing at assembly plant, BUT the owner ‘fessed up and said he drove it to assess whether he wanted to buy one (hybrid) for his parts runner.

Get a quote from your bank first, then see what Ford offers you. Decide which way to go. Make sure there's no fee for getting the loan.

Did they give you a discount or some compensation?

Nope. I decided it was OK since I traded in my F-350 that needed $13k in fuel system fixes that they supposedly “fixed” 3 times, and still gave me full trade-in value.

Agree with getting financing upfront. If you're a vet NavyFed is currently offering some of the best rates. PennFed is also pretty competitive. for 60Mo. I got preapproved for 4.49 and 4.99 respectively.
NFCU is great. I seem to be always calling PenFed for one thing or another. Very impersonal.

When I picked up my Mav 3/23 after waiting 16 months I told finance guy I wanted 10 year Ford extended warranty. He mentioned 3rd party and I said Ford only. I showed him Granger price and said try and match it. He said $100 more and I said ok. I was there and just wanted to get it done. My salesman was very good. Sales manager came over and made sure my 22 to 23 private offer was all good ($2750)
Salesman went over entire vehicle with me making sure everything was good.

Take your test drive (if possible) in the coolest part of the day. Find some bumps in the road. Listen for dash or other interior rattles.
Certainly hope you get a “good” one. Maverick is very versatile & you should enjoy it.

If you are a Vet then go with USAA 4.25%
Not sure what you mean Gpp about the key. All Ford prodcuts are shipped with two keys. If a dealer tells you they only have one then explain to him Ford told you two - was about to have the same issue a month back. Even the Ford web site states you get two keys....if that is what you meant...

Check behind the rear seat, check the upper an lower C-Pillars for any broken clips.
Mine had the rear window busted out during transport from factory and dealer didn't say a word. Contacted Customer Service in Detroit and found out all about it. So now I'm holding the bag on two broken upper C-Piller covers at $300 each.

Be very picky about everything. If it is something broken have them fix it. If they won't fix it then ask for a discount.

Afterwards, ENJOY THE HELL OUT OF IT !!!!!! Congrats.
How / When did you get 4.25? Their website is currently showing 4.69 as the lowest which usually means 36 month term. I have checked them several times and they are ALWAYS higher than Navy Federal or even PenFed. USAA is not what they used to be :(

It would appear they upped the price. When I was looking 3 weeks ago they had a one month lock. I guess they found the key. But you are absolutely correct...with respect to percentage and they are not what they used to be.

Another item I don't see being mentioned.
Just in case the dealer is fast with it.
A GPS tracker installed for their finance dept in case the loan is thru them.
They don't know ahead of time, so it may be automatic on all vehicle arrivals.
If tied into the ODB port wires from the backside - they are using truck location info and power to their cell modem, most likely, perhaps just power.
Could be tied in elsewhere merely for power to their GPS & cell modem.

So check driver footwell upper area, left side is adapter - but it could be up there anywhere - don't go yanking on wires, just see if anything not tucked in nicely.
Also passenger footwell upper - take glove box out to see in there.
