My Maverick should be delivered in the next 2wks. I want to be prepared so I'd like to hear your thoughts on;
Ceramic clear coat: use dealer or someone in the community? Why would you coat interior? Is it worth it? What about spray, wipe off DIY I see advertised?
Financing: I had great credit- 800+
Should I try pre approval with Ford or local bank. Or wait and work with the dealership?
Anything Else?
Don't pay MSRP

Remove tracker, get financing first, especially if you have decent credit. Don’t get talked into anything else. Take a video of a walk around your truck. Pick it up in daylight. So many other choices for waxes/coatings, no need to pay the dealer $$$. Go to a pro if you don’t want diy.
Many posts on here for diy ceramic and wax’s, maybe give it a try.

For me, I went to schools credit union and they gave me a check for up to $60000, just fill in amount. 4.99%

Also did turtle wax ceramic with graphene and it turns out great. Easy and ok for me.
Good luck and welcome to the club!

which ceramic coat you use probably doesn't make much difference. They're rated the pencil hardness scale, for how hard they can resist. The scale actually stops at 9, but there are a couple that claim 10 anyway.

They do seem to make a difference with water. We had my wife's and my sister's side by side camping. One's velocity blue, and one atlas blue (I forget which is which; one is a 24, and the other a 25).

also, our dirty rain (neighboring states having big fires) a couple of weeks ago let mine spotted; yesterday's clean rain not much at all.

I use Meguiar's from the local auto parts. I don't know the name off hand.
I'm sure it's about the same as Mother's or Turtle Wax ceramic spay.
It is,

the practical difference is that ceramic sticks around longer than wax.

Whether it absorbs or blocks more UV is a good question which I can't answer--any discussion is quickly overrun by True Believers who apparently have nothing better to do than web searches for any forum with a new post tainted by Unbelievers that need to be Converted.

It might or might not offer some oxidation protection by keeping oxygen away from the paint, depending upon which faction you join.

It might be too thin to affect UV--but the thickness is larger than the wavelength of a large portion of the UV band, so . . .

But it does make the car as shiny as fresh wax, and seems to last at least several months, probably a couple of years. And it's very easy to wipe clean with rinseless wash, which keeps my wife happy (not the she's the one doing the wiping!)

PPF the front and ceramic coating. Do it through a professional-- it'll likely be more expensive, but it'll almost certainly be done better.

Oh, and invest in a hood protector. Anything to keep the chips off the windshield for as long as possible.

Walk the vehicle, check for any paint chips or gouges. Inspect the inside, make sure there are no obvious gaps, tears, etc. I noticed a paint chip when I got home that I'd missed and the dealer took care of it, but not all dealers are that cool.

Definitely contact your local credit union. I kept in touch with mine but turns out the dealer had as well and there was no difference in rate (and no promo from Ford so it was what it was). Best rates I had access to - 800+ here as well - were 4.99 for longer term or 5.49 for shorter.

Your dealer might be competitive with ceramic coating, but it really comes down to competence. I'm sure some do a perfectly good job, and others won't. But a high reputation detailer does so through that work especially.

Lastly, enjoy your new ride. It's a solid little thing.

I guess that would work but I am just old school, I apply good old fashion Turtle wax hard shield about every three months

I'm hoping for a bit of UV protection.

We have so much UV here that tires die of sidewall dry rot long before tread comes into play.

And actually remembering to do it every three months, well . . . [Actually, with my Eldorado Touring Coupe while I was still commenting, I'd get a panel or two washed with rinseless cleaner and then waxed every time if filled the tank. but I don't use much gas retired . . .]

My dealer's "appearance package" was $989.
I like Adam's products, they have a graphene infused ceramic coating that rainbows when it is ready to buff(about a minute), nice applicators and micro fibers also. Second day I owned mine, I washed 1/2 hour, dried 1 hour (compressed air is your friend where plastic meets paint). Apply and wipe. For hours total. That includes the bed (it's only new once). Do it yourself, you won't regret.

Use past wax, and pay cash. Both will save you alot of money!
I'm in my 50's and I was a long time dedicated user of paste waxes. However, the new synthetic spray waxes give a great shine and bead much better than any paste wax. They are also much more durable than any paste wax with some legitimately beading for up to 12 months. And not only are they more durable than any paste wax ever was but they are so much easier and faster to apply.

good to know, but iam 65, hard to change my ways lol. I wax my vehicles once a year with paste wax and they look great. The paint on my 16 year old ram still looks like new. Plus the cost is a factor for me. Probably 2 dollars to wax. Iam sure ceramic is superior though.
