after 56k miles the front end of my Maverick has held up better than the front end of my previous vehicle which was a 2017 Mazda CX-9 that adjusted for inflation cost significantly more.

it's not a Ford thing. it's a EPA making all the good things about car paint go away and what's left is thin and easily chipped. wrap it in PPF if you don't want stone chips. every luxury car over 100k will have it done from new, guaranteed.
yes, but...
These are made in Mexico with Mexico's version of the EPA. Fender sends it's unfinished high-end guitars across the border to have forbidden finishes applied, then brings them back to Merkuh for final assembly. Ford could totally exploit having factories in Mexico to apply more durable finishes, and raise the price and profit as a marketable asset that companies with domestic factories cannot compete with.
Heck, apply old school Imron paint and charge $2k more.

What grounds? And in a class action lawsuit the lawyers get millions, you get 37 cents if you have receipts for the repairs.

Well on the rest of the range it was pointless for it to outlast the transmission 😜

Personally, I'd like the driver height to be another 6" taller (eye level off the road)... Mainly to allow a more comfortable "bus driver" sitting posture
Didn't they try that already?

kill the dial shifter for a normal knob on a stick. Manual emergency brake lever.
customizable safety settings that SAVE when you set them and not reset every friggin' time the truck turns off.
options for no tech screen would amazing.
the 2024 HVAC controls or better would be essential.

I have a 2022 Lariat Hybrid. I like it the way it is. But if I could change or add some things...
1. Give the front passenger seat electric controls too.
2. Rearview mirror as a camera video Screen option. My wifes Subaru has it and I love it.

A knob that doesn't spin forever and has a more firm click would be an acceptable compromise in my opinion, although one of these days am going to go test drive an XL F-150 with a column shifter just for fun to see what a bare bones F-150 feels and drives like these days.

Remembering previous vehicle settings is the only thing that annoys me on a daily basis that should be fixed.

Not what Ford will do and would probably be very unpopular, but I kinda feel like the Maverick has already gone off the rails on the original mission of a cheap little hybrid truck (feel is generous, it objectively has). Reeling back in the inflation of trims, features, options, colors, etc. into a couple highly focused trims that keep the cost as low as possible, and probably hyrbid only would be radical. It should be like a Costco board meeting where anyone who suggest raising the cost of the food court hot dog is fired on the spot, suggesting anything that increases the price. Again, that would probably not go well with many actual buyers though, and who knows how an in theory $25K Maverick hybrid would fit in against the in theory $30K new EV pickup.

I generally knew what I was getting when I bought my Maverick. I had a Ranger a long time ago, and was thinking about another one. Then, due to an accident, I needed a vehicle now. There wasn't a lot of inventory at the time. I found a Lariat at Carmax. Really didn't spend a huge amount of time comparing various trim levels (OK, partially because Carmax only had 1 Mav). But, the price was right and it had a few of the options I wanted.

The biggest complaint I had is no Homelink. Yes, I can clip something to the visor, but one thing I see on here is how people are really concerned about aesthetics. So am I.

I've never used the various driving modes. I would like to see the wireless charging pad/phone holder go away and just give me a larger flat area. Since I did not buy the vehicle from a Ford Dealer, don't have FordPass. Not sure if I'd use it anyway. I do have the factory keypad entry. Like being able to leave my fob in the vehicle.

you can most definitely sign up for a fordpass account and definitely do a master reset in the infotainment. then you'll get prompted and able to set up fordpass. check the online owners manual or just get help at a Ford dealership.

An egress handle for the driver. The other doors have one! I have an Escape and use it all the time.
Ford expects the driver will use the steering wheel.

I don't know if anyone has covered this, (there are a lot of pages to this thread), but I'm not sure if you can set a default driving mode. I see no reason to not have Eco as default (Eco is the new Normal). Sure, when I'm towing or I need one of the others, I'll be happy to punch that in, but otherwise. Perhaps it can be accomplished by Forescan, but I'm just not that into it.
