No, they didn't. It's kind of ironic as it's a key piece of evidence in their citation. They must have just run the plate as they misinterpreted it, got my VIN, ignored that that VIN is for a Ford and wrote TOY on the citation anyway.
Hopefully, they'll see their honest mistake and just go...
For a minute or two, that's exactly what I thought, damn, that looks so real! But then I noticed how high that lower lip on the license plate frame ran, and I was like, ohhhh.
Prolly looked it up from the misread license plate. Along w/ the photo of the Taco tailgate, there is a photo of the dash, but there is a card over where the VIN is showing. I can't believe that he planned this, but it is a funny happenstance...

BTW, I sent a link of this post to Lancaster Toyoda and suggested they get different license plate frames.

Got a parking ticket in the mail from the city of Newport Beach, California which is almost 400 miles from where I live. I've never been there with either of the cars that I own at the moment. The VIN on the notice matches my Mav, but the citation says, "TOY"...
