Allocation is the first thing. If a dealer doesn't have any available, ford won't build it. If Ford doesn't have hybrid parts, they skip the hybrid for an EB. If Ford doesn't have any trailer hitches, they build trucks that were ordered without. Just because a dealer has 10 allocations and 5 orders pending, it does not guarantee yours will be built now.Ford does NOT build "according to what they have" nor to "who ordered first".
Its almost entirely allocations, and not even always about that.
I have even seen Tim pull up his list to find the same build picked at his dealer while passing over older orders for the same build.
But for sure they even cancelled My2022's w/vins to replace them with Fresh Hybrid Lariat Lux MY2023s. One of those said he was built LAST week.
Ford runs their scheduling for production like they run their parts acquisition system. I doubt few at Ford know how either actually work.
