I just informed that I'm relocating from Florida to California for my job in the Air Force. I placed an order for my 2023 Maverick in September when they were opened for the limited time. I called up my dealership that I ordered it from to see the status of my truck. There is no schedule date nor is there a VIN assigned to my truck. I told them the situation and the rep said, " We can't send your truck to your new location. You need to wait till it's made, shipped, then purchase it at our location, then you can pay to have it shipped to another Ford dealership. There is no other way because it's an order and not a reservation anymore." I've talked to the North America customer service and their marketing section, I've gotten the same response. Now my options are to wait and pay the extra fee to send it out to California, find a professional company that will move my truck, forget the truck and go with another truck, or fly back and drive it across the country. I'm torn because I've been wanting this truck since I saw the 2022 and I'm not happy that these are the solutions I have to deal with because of the circumstances as a service member.

Do you think there is another option I have that I'm not seeing?

Your ordering dealer could set up Courtesy Delivery where you're buying through them but it gets delivered from the factory to another dealer, but it sounds like they wouldn't be interested in such a setup.

Since you are moving on military orders, check with whoever on base handles family moving assistance and see if there is a provision for this type of situation. Maybe they can help or offer advice.

Our military members train and serve to protect this country, yet corporations and businesses make no move to extend any help to them. Sad day to say the least. I am sure most MTC members feel like I do. If we could help get it to you, we would.

I'll see if there is any program that will help. I'm moving my Kia with us, while my fiancee will be selling her VW. If I got the truck in time, I would move the truck in my partial DITY move.

If you really want the truck (and don't want to wait for the '24 order banks to open and the associate build date wait), I would keep the order, and see the difference in cost between shipping it, and flying back and driving it and go the cheapest way. Hopefully, if Ford or the dealer can't help, the Air Force has some way to help out. And thanks for your service from a fellow AF vet.

They didn’t offer that as an option. I don’t want to say it’s all about the commission and numbers for their store, but it probably is.

I’ve been waiting for this truck for awhile, similar to many of us on this forum. If I do fly back, I’m not sure on what to do with my Kia that I was initially going to trade in.

Thank you sir!

I’ll have to stop by the MFRC on base and ask those key questions.
