Ordered my first new vehicle and I'm excited that its a hybrid truck as I never thought I would buy new or own a truck! Anyway, I reserved my XLT on the first day but wasn't able to get an order in until a few days after the portal opened at my dealership. I received my VIN at the beginning of August, saying it will start production last week (9/22), but doesn't have a build date or delivery date.

My order is pretty bare bones as I only got a full sized spare, and 4-pin hitch on top of the XLT style. (I'm gonna get a bed liner aftermarket)

So my questions are...
Do we know if mine or others like mine are actually in production with an expected delivery?
Were people actually able to place an order prior to 7/15/21? That was the earliest my dealer stated that anyone could actually place an order through the system.

Thanks for the help!

Call your dealer and inquire about the lack of response.

To answer part of your question, the order banks opened on 06/08. Your dealer missed the bus on that one but they aren't the only ones. Many dealers didn't seem to know that they could order for the first few weeks. Not really a big deal now if you've been scheduled for production.

So how are you getting updates? Your dealer should have entered your email when the order was placed and you should get an update at each milestone. You should have received an email confirming your order, another with your scheduled build week, and you should receive a "built" email when your truck is assembled and shipping. If you are not receiving these, you will have to contact your dealer for this info. If you are receiving these but just haven't received your "built" email yet, you could still contact your dealer to see what they can offer but more likely than not, you will just need to wait on that email. I know Ecos are being built and shipped but I'm not sure if that's happening with hybrids yet or not, possibly because of the hold up with the EPA MPG numbers. Anyone have a hybrid actually in transit yet?

From what I've been able to glean on the forums, the hybrids aren't shipping as they haven't been "okayed to buy" as they don't have final EPA numbers. Hopefully this situation works itself out soon and your truck ships. Currently my hybrid XLT (6-8 reservation and 6-14 order) is scheduled to be built on the 11th and I would love to have it by Thanksgiving.

there are already multiple threads on here detailing ordering, production, and delivery steps. Search for fordvideoguy on here, he really covers things very well as a dealer.

I have received a single email updating me on August 5th with my VIN and estimated production date of 9/20. Haven't received any other emails, but the tracking states my order is being manufactured as of 9/22. Mine would be the hybrid build, but i havent heard of anyone having one in transit.

Did that email come directly from Ford or was it forwarded by your dealer? You should have received an order confirmation email first. Could be that your dealer didn't attach your email to the order until later. Either way, if your VIN and production scheduled email came directly from Ford (not just forwarded from your dealer) then you are in the loop. I would imagine that you haven't received your "built" email because of the hybrid delay as someone mentioned above. Hopefully that will be resolved in the near future and hybrids will start shipping. I think you're in a good place. The only tough part now is the unknown wait.

Yeah, it looks like I'm in the loop as the email came directly from Ford. I shall continue to check the tracking on a daily basis like a kid counting the days till Christmas.

Until the hybrids get the ok to buy from Ford probably after EPA gives MPG figures they won't ship since the can't be sold currently.

FYI I was able to confirm my 9/13 build date hybrid was indeed built, so yours likely is built also. At this point it looks like the tracker will be stuck at "in production" until the EPA MPG estimates are official, and we just don't know when that will be.
