I'm glad that I'm getting a 24MY rather than a refresh 25MY because it seems to me that there's guaranteed to be another price hike especially since they're adding more features. The spy photos indicate that a 360 degree camera system is on the way and if there is in fact going to be an updated infotainment system, it will definitely result in a price bump. Judging by the body colored door handles, this is a Lariat trim which currently starts just over $34,000. I bet the '25 will more than likely start at around $37-38K. Unfortunately the Maverick is starting to lose its affordability factor. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Maverick with a $50K MSRP in the not-so-distant future.

Like others have said, hopefully these will be standalone options for anyone who is willing to pay extra for them and not standardized. This way it will still retain its affordability on the bread and butter lower trims. If not, it will definitely take a toll on potential XL and XLT buyers. Who knows, maybe the 8-inch screen will stay on the two lesser trims but will at least have SYNC4 software and the bigger screen will be standard on the Lariat or optional on the XLT with the luxury package. It's all speculation at this point.

I have to agree. Back in the days I would have thought "cool, more room for maps and features" but they seem to have gone the opposite direction and still don't even make the buttons big enough to press while driving without taking our eyes completely off the road. I'm not old by any means, but I aint young either, and I hate this trend of large screens being put in vehicles.
I will say the one area I would and could find it useful in would be for a 360 camera/reverse camera/trailer camera - all of which would be more necessary if the Maverick were more off road capable or could tow more.

Unfortunately, I think Ford fears they will lose market share to Toyota, Stellantis, or another manufacturer who innovates on the small truck platform and makes the Maverick appear dated and old.

Ewww. I like the small screen in my 23 Mav. I wish it were wider, not taller. Storage under the dash has more value to me than a big screen.

A Bigger screen & Sync4 like my Bronco I'm in and I'd gladly pay more to get it. After using Sync4 it's really hard to feel good about Sync3. I bought a fully optioned Lariat AWD (Except the Sunroof) for $38K a little more for upgraded electronics is good by me.

I figured like most if they did anything they would just make the screen wider to fill up the space that is there less that side cubby. That would likely be around a 10" screen. A bit higher quality screen would be nice too especially on the Lariat.

It would be nice if Ford would offer those Pillar Gauge Pods as an accessory. ;)

Agreed. This obsession with vertical screens (and the elimination of physical controls) is not for me. I could get behind a 12" horizontal, eliminating the cubby.

yea i like real buttons for climate control at least

Pardon this old man but why don't people pay more attention to the road that they do looking at something that has nothing to do with driving?
I think when used correctly these screen actually help people be less distracted because there is no need for phone in hand. Mostly though I use it for navigation, music selection, rear camera and opening and closing my garage door.

Looks like Tesla direction, more and vertical screen and fewer buttons. Cheaper to build and less desirable IMO.
Edit: The big takeaway in the article is the new announcement of even more Maverick production. Perhaps we don't need so many Bronco Sports.
It seems that way. Last time I got my oil changed the dealer had quite a few Bronco Sports on the lot. But only one or two other models.

Recently sold my 23 Subaru Outback that used a 12" vertical touchscreen like in the supposed 25 Mav refresh to control all vehicle features. I absolutely hated it.

Pecking away at a screen to change vehicle features and HVAC while driving really sucks.

Bummer, if all the trims have the large screen then I guess a 25+ Mav is out of the cards for me. I'm sure the price will go up again too. I didn't pick up my 24 because the prices are already out of control.

Ill order a '25 Lariat loaded if the screen is only used for entertainment/navigation/communication.

If it incorporates HVAC controls and removes more physical switches, I won't. I need the tactile feel to find what I need when I can't momentarily take my eyes off the road.

Not a fan of the vertical screen. Horizontal screens will always be my favorite.

Yea the hole, to me, screams
"We designed this for a bigger screen and couldnt get them in time"

But then they stuck with the other supplier for the smaller screen. I had hoped the "cubby" (hatethatword) would have been solved year 2 or 3 but it basically never did.

If they do a bigger screen I'd have to see it. If its like the Ranger its at least not screen only controls and has some analog.
