Yep, I hear ya. I originally wanted a Mav in 2022 but one got sold out from under me and the other I reserved the dealer tagged on $5K when I went to pick it up, so I walked away from that one.
I was excited when I ordered a 2024 until I saw they removed the rear slider, keypads etc. It was...
Yeah... Just keep your current Mav, you're already a few years into paying it off and like you said, it's treating you well. The 24 XLT's aren't that great of a value anymore now that Ford raised the prices and took away features it used to have.
Maybe in 3-4 years you can look at ordering...
Well, closing this thread out. I told the dealer today to sell my order as general inventory. I'm actually really surprised no one wanted to jump on it.
Pretty crazy, 60 days from order to delivery. It's at the dealer, last chance if anyone wants me to pass on your info before I tell them to put it on the lot. I'm not asking for anything, just want to pass on a Mav if anyone has been waiting for one for a while. I bet you can still convince them...
Yeah, you have to step up into the Lariat trim to get those and then you're really hovering right around $38K (ecoboost). That's a lot of money for a Mav.
If the XLT came with some of those features it wouldn't be such a bad deal. I guess all I'm trying to get across to the OP is that unless...
IMO they were neat trucks when they were priced aggressively but are now in a weird spot in the market. Now that Ford has raised the prices and taken away features on the 24+, I don't think they are worth $30K+ anymore.
They lack a lot of features you'd get in other vehicles around the same...
Yeah, inflation, high interest rates, and increased Mav prices are pretty much what made me pass on my 24. I understand it's the cheapest truck out there, but even though I want it, it's just not worth it anymore.
I decided I had to be logical and just buy what I could pay cash for. I had...
Due to Ford raising prices, this truck is $33-34,500 (depending if you get fx4 or 4k tow) in 2024 and it no longer has the rear slider or numerical keypads. Mav's aren't as good of a deal as they used to be.
Yep I believe it's something like that. I'm in the " nice to have a truck" camp but wouldn't be hauling stuff every day. I can rent or borrow a truck when needed.
At sub $30K the Mav was pretty appealing as I could have some nice features and a truck bed when needed for camping and what not so...
Doesn't surprise me. The auto manufacturers keep jamming more crap into cars and consumers keep dropping further into debt to buy this stuff...
Even Ford is an offender with the Mav. I decided not to pick my order up as while I was waiting for it to be built and thinking of the several thousand...
I ordered a XLT in Dec which is produced and in transit now. I've decided not to pick it up though and went with something else last week.
I was really excited to order, but once the excitement wore off that I was finally able to get a Mav, I realized that they're just overpriced now for the...
Recently sold my 23 Subaru Outback that used a 12" vertical touchscreen like in the supposed 25 Mav refresh to control all vehicle features. I absolutely hated it.
Pecking away at a screen to change vehicle features and HVAC while driving really sucks.
Bummer, if all the trims have the...
The XLT I ordered in Dec is built and shipped, ETA 2/27-3/11 to Granger Ford. I purchased something else so won't be picking it up. Starting a thread that I can post updates in if anyone wants it.
I ordered Dec 8th and got scheduled for week of Jan 29. EB,fx4,4k tow, lux package, cargo mangement rails.
Interesting how some similar builds ordered way before me are not scheduled yet. I wonder if people need to find a dealer with more allocations.
