Turn around time for replacing Front CV axle

my 22 hybrid is having the same CV joint issue as many others have on here. What is the wait time to get this fixed and are the parts still on back order? And can the diagnostic be done by a ford mobile service tech? Prefer to have it pick up and return to my driveway instead of going to the dealership. Anyone with experience please chime in.

Actual job only is a few hours, but took two days because they needed to get parts from the warehouse. Ask your dealer for a loaner.

They will want to drive it to verify. They got the parts the next day from their warehouse, actual work takes a few hours. They will need your truck for a day+ unless you can get them to drive it before closing to verify and bring it back when the cvjoint arrives.

Took mine in on Tuesday AM left overnight was ready 10 the next morning.

I prefer at dealer. Better situation there…lifts, tools and parts. And i can ask service writer if their techs qualified. LoL

Am having this done right now. I dropped it off Friday evening and they quoted me 2-3 days depending on parts availability at the local warehouse. I’ll update this when I get the vehicle back!

Mine went out on my 2022 XLT Hybrid at 38,436 miles. It was in the shop for a day and a half. Zero $$$ to me. Drives like new.

I prefer taking it to the dealer. I walk the lot to see what's new and everywhere else I am allowed. Is the dealership well maintained and organized? Are the people friendly and knowledgeable? There is one Ford dealership in my area I absolutely don't trust and will have nothing to do with and two dealerships that are OK, close to excellent.

As some have said depends on your dealer and parts available. I had to wait 3 weeks for available appointment, but when I took it in to have it looked at, they replaced both front CV axles that day and had my truck back by 4pm.

Dropped off the mav and told to wait. Could be a few days wait.

Update is that they needed to order parts, so the vehicle is in the shop since 03/06. Currently driving a courtesy car from them. They told me it could be a week or more before I get it back.

I asked for a loaner but they said they didn’t have any. I checked the link to show the progress but so far it’s still sitting there with status of dropped off. I guess it’s going to be a while before they even take a look at it.
