SO I went originally to Jim Bass in Angelo for a fluid flush and they found a gasket leak. got that changed and then started leaking again a couple days later and they changed the other gasket. with those they went a ahead and changed the fluids out. Haven't seen another leak.
you said it was leaking. I am not trying to pour salt in your wounds, I'm really sorry you have to deal with this. This OP didn't have issues until it cratered. It was fine till it wasn't. No issues leading up to it self destructing. I stopped in Kerrville at Whataburger to get a bite to eat. I get back in the truck to leave. When I crank it, there is a huge metal grinding noise, then it wouldn't budge. That being said, first sign of issues, it was towed to Stoepel Ford in Kerrville. All previous maintenance was done at Jim Bass in San Angelo.
BUT
when it started leaking, that is the point where I would have had a 3rd party investigate.
the other thing that bothers me about your issue is that the transmission does not require a gasket to drain and refill. in fact, if you check this video, the tech mentions not to use an air or electric ratchet for fear of overtorquing and stripping the drain plug.
that's in fact my guess as to what they did. stripped it and caused a leak.
but it's just a guess, because now they have it back and it sounds like you have already paid for them to replace it or whatever.
