How was this rude? I didn't call him names or insult his intelligence.

I said his inside knowledge of Ford was out of date.

He claimed to have "inside" info on said topic. When asked about proof of claim, he states
"I have previously worked at Ford in Transmission Engineering", but fails to mention it was OVER 3 decades ago. That is pretty important info for the claims made.
Pretty sure it was the ending sentence.
Seems different ideas of what rude means if that didn't stand out as reason.

Yea hindsight is 20/20. I should have left that last sentence as an inside thought.

How many units of a given or similar transmission out in the US before more rebuilders/remanufacturers are interesting in working with them?

Or does it always have to have encouragement from the maker (Ford) to engage some businesses to take it on?

I'm thinking about the small unit quantity in say the hybrids & different models.

Yea I'm seeing a lot of questionable info in this thread. Didn't want to say anything earlier. But it seems like this was a dealer screw up which seems likely giving the job of replacing a gasket requires removal of the entire transmission and PTU components as well. It'd have to be a serious leak to justify replacement.

But it doesn't really matter. OP has a new transmission and hopefully this one lasts.

I understand you don't know I have been involved in Forums - Turbo Ford,Ford-Trucks,Ford Fusion and recently Maverick. You can say so what...I have belonged to a Ford Executive Group of Retired For Engineers like myself. New people come in ever year keeping us all somewhat current.
With my 4 Ford Z plan Discounts each year many of my Family chose Ford. I got frequent calls because some of my Family drive their vehicles without concern for proper maintenance.
That being said I do stay current with 6spd and 10spd trans problems. Rear Drive are fairly easy to maintain - change filters or swap. Front Drive not so easy - have to split to change Filters - better to change fluid or flush to denture or prevent issues. Good remanufacturers are better equipped with Test Stands than Dealers or Independent shops.

My last contact with Jasper was last week - trying to help a Grandson out of a Escape Trans issue. Nothing like a clean organized shop similar to a Ford Plant but a lot less expensive.

Do your own research - take what like and move on.
Have a Blessed day!!!

Unfortunately I've been saying it from the start but this is going to be commonplace. Most Ford techs will openly say that the 8F35 is a piece of junk just like the 6F35 was. Add in extra heat and strain from towing and hauling and kaboom.

I do sincerely apologize for my remarks.

You are correct that I don't know your true history in the auto industry. I was to caught up in other stuff I had going on when I responded to you. The snarky remarks we uncalled for.

I've been a Ford guy forever, but when I was car shopping back in 2013-2014 I decided against a Focus, since I didn't trust their dual clutch "power shift" transmission.

I guess it was a DPS6 Powershift transmission?

Ended up buying a Hyundai with a standard torque converter automatic.

Had it drained and filled at 100k, still cruising at 127k...

I have been seeing some disturbing post on different platforms concerning Jasper Engines and Transmissions. It seems like they are having a problem with quality control, and parts suppliers ,or maybe just buying cheap parts in both the engines and transmissions. Plus this isn't very reassuring either,https://www.yelp.com/biz/jasper-engines-and-transmissions-jasper If they are building for any manufacturer they aren't putting THEIR tags anywhere on the product.

Page 436 in my owners manual says 150,000 miles for transmission fluid change.
Good luck with 150,000 fluid change. Don't believe that crap, Ford don't care if your out of warranty and need a tranny. Am changing my fluids every 30k. A few hundred now or 7000 later which do you choose. They also say on next page if you tow or have a car-top carrier every 30k, know a lot of Maverick's with car top carriers? sounds like there talking about f150. I don't believe this vehicle has a filter or a dip stick for transmission.
