I’ve got about 5700 miles on my 24 mav. Yesterday drove from Texas to my Dad’s in Florida. This morning got in the truck to head to beach and transmission was slipping bad. Revs up to 7000 rpm before shifting gears. It seamed to be okay after a few min of driving.
I went out again just now and it did it again. Video attached. I’ve notice it do this before in the morning but not near this bad. Chocked it up to me just not being used to this 8 speed transmission. But now I’m worrried. Taking in to local dealer if I can get in but worried my trucks going to end up stuck far from home needing a new transmission. Please tell me I’m wrong

Update Day2: Ford contacted me on Maverick truck club forum saying “Good morning! I would like to take a closer look at your transmission concerns on my end. To get things started, can you please send over a message with your VIN along with the name and location of your local Ford dealer?”
I sent my info right away along with my cell#, they responded hours later asking for my email and owner name (which is me), which I sent, 3 hours later they asked if I’d taken it to a ford dealer yet and what did dealer say… so far this route has been a dead end.
Meanwhile I spent yesterday and today calling the 3 ford dealers within 50 miles. The Closest one never called back after going through there automated call system and leaving messages. I was able to get through later in the day by calling another department and getting transferred. They said they would not be able to even diagnose it for at lease a week and a half.
The next closest answered the phone and tried to reach thier service dept. but could get through to them themselves. They left a message for me but no one ever called back and I never got through.
The 3rd dealer (about an hour drive away) scheduled an appointment for tomorrow morning. I used ford roadside assistance to get it towed there and they just picked it up after a 4 hour wait.
Update Day 3: Dealer service dept says it needs a new transmission. Warehouse shows some in stock but they have been on back order and those with previous orders will get priority. Even if he gets one it will take 5-7 days to get here then 3 weeks to get installed because he has 4 others in line ahead of me.he’s trying to get Ford to approve a long term rental.
Update 2+ Weeks: Ford Said they’d reimburse for flights home, we flew home and submitted receipts but have not recieved reimbursement yet. Spoke to service department in Florida a couple days ago They had received the new transmission the day before but couldn’t tell me how long it would take to complete repairs. Ford’s offer to reimburse for a rent is a joke. They’ll only pay $45 a day and only if you rent a ford. No one has Fords for rent so have been without a vehicle for 2+ weeks. Left a few messages with local dealer about getting a loner but no one returns calls. Ford “Customer advocate” also called them but no luck with that either. Looking into Lemon law options now which sucks because I really like the truck and have over $2500 in upgrades on it. Hoping they’ll offer an extended warranty. Funny thing is I sold my 2004 Chevy with 210k miles on it to get the Maverick because I was getting worried about taking it on long trips and getting stuck somewhere.
