Honestly, I wish I still had the ability to get under my truck and do this kind of maintenance. If I had access to a lift, sure. Breaks my heart to see chests of tools accumulated over the years not get used.

I’m almost there too. Need to pop a couple advil before getting under the Maverick to change my oil/filter etc - but I still end up aching afterwards!

I had the dealer do a cursory inspection of my hybrid's transmission to check for leaks, fluid quantity, and fluid quality when my first annual maintenance rolled around. They made sure that the levels were good and that there were no obvious signs of leaks or contamination of the fluid. Going to leave it be until the recommended maintenance interval.

Is there a trick to the refill? I hear the 4-5 quarts pour in really slow.

Including breaks - I plan on a 3 hour DIY job. I pay myself by the hour so no need for me to rush. Paid breaks too. I’m a great boss!

Mine took four and a half quarts. As does my 19 explorer the three times I've done it. Same for my sons 16 Chevy equinox all have taken exactly four and a half quarts on a drain and fill.

4 to 4 and a half quarts is what I’m expecting - thanks for your data point!

I plan to refill cold the exact same amount I drain cold. Not going to mess with the “overflow” hole since my truck will be on ramps & not completely level anyway.

Cleaner & easier that way for sure. Going to assume a proper fill at factory and no leaks! Less than 4 quarts draining will be a red flag and I’ll be facing a dilemma!
