you only have a 1/2 mile to the boat dock? life sounds good. :)
i just love how what you're towing appears larger than what you're towing it with, Mavericks Rock!
I was wondering if it was his private dock on his own lake?

You only have the obligation to tow safely. And 5,000 lbs. at 45. MPH can be done with less risk than 4,000 lbs. at 75 MPH.

I was worried my Maverick wouldn't tow as well as my Ram Ecoboost , But wow ! It tows perfect . Lots of power to pull out of the ramp and home. It Does not strain at all ! I only tow about a half mile to the ramp. My boat and trailer are at least 4500 Lbs. and It hardly squats at all in back. If I traveled with the boat I would want a bigger truck, but it's perfect for now.

Not so much a weight problem and a visibility issue. We’ve launched our Arima19 w/ecoboost Mav yet prefer using larger pickup as we can see without needing clamp-on mirrors.

Yes you are right about the mirrors , but for a short trip I can see fine . Backing up I can see no problem.

When I’m towing, would be guessing what gear that 8 spd transmission is in. In my old F250 dash displays what gear I’m in. Also, what is transmission fluid temperature?

I believe the trans thermostat fully opens at 196 degrees.

I use a scan gauge to monitor a number of things while towing, including what gear the truck is in and trans temp. It has definitely been a worthwhile purchase.

Scan Gauge III

I bought mine direct from Scan Gauge but I believe they sell on Amazon as well. It is missing a few parameters I was hoping to see such as oil pressure and oil temp, but I have been happy with it and monitor it quite a bit while driving.

I've been looking at a SG III, where did you mount yours? I'm thinking upper dash, on the far left.

I would be keen interested in the tranny shifting, what gear I’m in while driving. My old F250 with 6 spd had gear display, and I like that. One route I took to work was posted 40 mph. I discovered as I would do 40 mph on cruise control, truck in 5th gear. And if I sped up to say 42, it would go into 6th gear, and as I gently allowed, slowed to 40, will remain in 6th gear. Economy mode!

I originally had it mounted on the dash over the cubby hole. I then lowered the mount to essentially cover the cubby as I found no other use for it. On the really hot days, the mount would fall though as it did not adhere great to the plastic dash.

I now have it mounted low on the windshield, near the drivers side pillar. Works well that way too as I don't have to turn my head or look away from the road for long. It adheres well to the window and I've had no issues now.
