  3. Why do so many gear heads HATE the maverick....?

I agree and would add that many people, mostly men, want to express their identity via their highway vehicles. I want mine to blend in and be comfortable for the wife. Practical ways I express myself; Home Improvement, accessorize bikes, custom lawnmowerā€¦.
  4. Maverick is gone. Maverick replacement is....

I enjoy driving the Maverick more for local trips and have 3k miles on it Travel trailer is 3300# loaded for two people, so 5000# rating on v6 Honda gives extra safety margin. We have 20k miles on Ridgeline, including two vacations. Other than more weight it has adult-size back seat. Mav also...
  5. Maverick is gone. Maverick replacement is....

Bring it home pix from a month-ago. Now weā€™re a three pickup family
  6. Best Ford dealer north of seattle

Iā€™m satisfied with Frontier Ford, Anacortes, WA. We had a long wait yet the staff was always polite and helpful. No added dealer markup. We took delivery a week after they had it ready, and we didnā€™t feel rushed. We got a reasonable offer for badly-worn trade in, they will likely make a few...
  7. Anyone else considering not buying?!

We bought our December ā€˜21 order yesterday, with some resistance from Spouse because she would have liked more driver assist stuff. Due to all the constraints, we didnā€™t order Co-Pilot ā€” Hoping to get the Maverick sooner ;-)
  8. Dealer trying to add "Pulse Braking"

We just opted-out and paid MSRP+ tax yesterday. Sales mgr. said itā€™s another feature that will likely be included within a few years on all new vehicles. Resulting from Lobbyist / Congress pressure to keep adding ā€˜safetyā€™ features.
  9. What are you putting off until you get your Maverick?

Agreed.. Also not buying accessory until itā€™s home. Driving 500 miles to see my Brotherā€™s new home and help with that. We have a ā€˜22 Ridgeline, but fuel costs less/mile in Maverick
  10. Anyone who placed an order in 2021 still waiting for their Maverick?

December '21 order no e-mails from Ford after rollover March '23 VIN from dealer just checked online and modules are populated so is WAS built that was supposed to be last week of march dealer said not to expect until about now, due to trucking to small town can't get Ford's status page to...
  11. Best accessories you've added to your Maverick?

Is there a place to download the custom font (letter shapes) ?
  12. It feels my truck is just falling apart at this point..

So it seems that having some detergent gas in the intake might keep valves cleaner. I read somewhere that some current engines use a combination of throttle body and direct injection. Maybe Ford needs to sell a magic fluid To spray intakes at every oil change.
  13. Picked up a couple hours ago……love my little truck!

Also keeps the load firmly in place when cars are chained-down for transport.. Not much chance any Maverick or Bronco will sit in dealer inventory long enough for battery or tires to run Down. In the ā€˜80s it became common for most cars on the lot to have dead batteries.
  14. Available units are out there at MSRP

Interesting comparison. Weā€™re looking to replace 9y.o. Forrester, that was clearly a great value at the time, wth CX-5 or Maverick. Our Mav is supposed to be assembled late March or early April, about 15 months after ordering. Thereā€™s a terrible shortage of CX-5 and other Mazdas here. We drove...
  15. Best accessories you've added to your Maverick?

I like the grey tailgate stickers. Are those reflective .
  16. A Few Semi-random Thoughts about Waiting, and Waiting, and Waiting Again

I retired as rather versatile electrician last year under pressure from spouse who kept reminding me that we have enough. If not for the Boss, Iā€˜d like to try other jobs like trucking. Modern ā€œHRā€ makes this artificially difficult, with their stats on what makes a good ( obedient ) worker...
  17. It feels my truck is just falling apart at this point..

I was wondering if EB owners with carbon issues are using low-grade gaā€¦ My spouse worked for an oil refinery two decades. Their own research said that switching between Chevron and Shell every few tanks kept carbon and varnish to a minimum. Spouse worked for Chevron.
