I originally had it mounted on the dash over the cubby hole. I then lowered the mount to essentially cover the cubby as I found no other use for it. On the really hot days, the mount would fall though as it did not adhere great to the plastic dash.
I now have it mounted low on the windshield...
Scan Gauge III
I bought mine direct from Scan Gauge but I believe they sell on Amazon as well. It is missing a few parameters I was hoping to see such as oil pressure and oil temp, but I have been happy with it and monitor it quite a bit while driving.
I believe the trans thermostat fully opens at 196 degrees.
I use a scan gauge to monitor a number of things while towing, including what gear the truck is in and trans temp. It has definitely been a worthwhile purchase.
FX4 is a relatively cheap option. It really won't make much of a difference for what you are looking for.
Having skid plates, extra cooling, and front tow hooks make the option well worth it in my mind though. Supposedly the shocks are different or tuned different as well.
Funny enough, I just read this thread yesterday and I was on a 20 minute drive last night and got flashed twice.
It has happened periodically since I've had the truck but seems more lately. I have few hundred pounds of tools and miscellaneous items in the bed under my tonneau cover, but nothing...
How do you have it mounted? I see it comes with a windshield glass mount but was thinking I'd like to try to use the dash cubby to mount it there somehow.
Also, were you able to just scan for all the parameters you wanted to track? Is it essentially just plug and play?
I'm planning to pick it...
AWD was the biggest factor for me.
I was also familiar with the Focus ST and know that the 2.0 has been around awhile and is a proven powerplant at this point. The added complexity of a Hybrid was in the back of my mind as well as I plan to own this truck for awhile.
After reading a few...
There should be a reversible block on the front of the drivers side rail. It is numbered 1 through 4. By flipping the block, you can adjust the tension put on the cover. I don't recall if 1 or 4 is the tightest setting, but you get the idea.
