Last week I purchased a 2024 Maverick Lariat Hybrid and I'm trying to decide what type tonneau cover I need. The Maverick came with adjustable rails on the inside on each side of the bed that I would like to keep. Many of the tonneau covers I see online do not show these rails. Can I install a tri fold cover and still keep these rails? Also, any recommendations for a cover would be appreciated. Thank you for any ideas!

Yup, the covers just clip to the underside of the bed walls, and do no interfere with the rails on the side. I know my Bakflip MX4 tri-fold does not.

The rails on the sides of the truck won't be affected by a tri-fold tonneau cover. I have a hard top tri-fold cover on my '22 hybrid Lariat. It rests on top of the black plastic trim on top rail of the bed. There are two clamps that attach to the front of the bed underneath the top rail.

My tonneau cover doesn't have it's own separate lock. Rather, it locks when I lock the doors and tailgate.

Here's a link with a variety of hard top, tri-fold tonneau covers.

I would strongly recommend the
Ford Maverick Genuine Hard Folding In Rail Tonneau Bed Cover
Part Number: VNZ6Z-99501A42-C. It is great and folds up and secures with straps and rods to protect the back window if hauling something large in the bed. This isn't our dealer, but is the same part as ours: https://www.levittownfordparts.com/sku/vnz6z-99501a42-c.html

Got cleaned out in the divorce so I got the cheapest one ($330.) on Amazon and just installed it yesterday afternoon just before the snow storm. Super easy to install and take off. It's a hard trifold. It just clamps on without tools and takes 20 minutes to install.
I had one that came with an earlier (new) Maverick that was a little nicer but cost 3 times as much.

Depends on your budget and whether or not you want a soft folding, roll up, or a hard folding, roll up cover.

There's so many options by so many brands and the prices range anywhere from right at $300 to almost $3,000 depending on what options you get and what manufacturer you choose. I still don't see how these can reach prices above $1,000 for a 4 and 1/2 ft bed length.

There are dozens of threads here talking about pros/cons of each type. Before you dive into a long term relationship with a cover, you should explore the comments for each type. I prefer a hard rolling cover (Sentry CT w/T-slot rails) because I also use the Elevate racks for my kayaks and the rolling works with that setup. Some like the folding hard covers, some like the soft rolling or soft folding. Much depends how you see yourself using the truck. Do you need water tight? Do you want security? Do you want to be able to see out the rear if it is rolled/folded up? Easy of removal? Need for racks or other attachments? Take your time and decide right.

If you don't mind a retractable hard bed cover for right around $750 may want to look at this one.
